Alexis Bledel Current Interview

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) recently talked with Current.com about her movie, Post Grad. The candid interview features more than 2 minutes of Alexis talking about her life: from her first “job” (Seventeen Magazine) to her desire to be more creative with movie promotional images (vs commercial):

One of the questions that Alexis was asked must have had to do with movie parts that Alexis turns down. Alexis says that sometimes she’ll see a movie and be glad she didn’t take part in it, but more often than not they turn out better than she’d expected.

Alexis Bledel on Tavis Smiley

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) paid a visit to the Tavis Smiley talk show on PBS on Friday night to talk about Post Grad, which is out now! The movie made $2.8 million in its opening weekend (ranked #10), btw!

Alexis talks about the fantastic cast in the movie, including how it was to met Carol Burnett, and talks about her role in the film. Alexis talks about pursuing her dreams, but mostly just stumbling into things until they ‘felt right.’ In Alexis’ case, she explains how she stumbled into acting, after modeling since she was 14. Tavis then asks Alexis what she thinks of, looking back on Gilmore GIrls:

“So much of it is just such a blur. The first couple years are just such a blur, because I was learning so much and we just had to memorize so many words that that was mostly what was going on in my head for many many years were those lines.

But I see it so differently now. At the time, I was so busy I just didn’t know what to think, but now I just appreciate it so much. I mean, it’s rare that a show goes on for so long and that it’s beloved by so many people. So, I just feel blessed at this point.”

Alexis Bledel at Planet Hollywood

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) and her Post Grad co-star Zach Gilford appeared last night in New York City at Planet Hollywood to promote the launch of their new movie! They were there to donate some props from their movie, including the gown and accessories shown in the pics.

Alexis gave an interview at the event, talking briefly about how Ryden was “a little more imperfect” than Rory was on Gilmore Girls, making “more mistakes.” She also shared that she did fast some Post Grad-esque stress after leaving Gilmore Girls:

“When my show ended, I felt like I could relate at that time of my life. I didn’t know what I was going to do next.”

Alexis also shares that perhaps Post Grad would have had a slightly different ending if the story had taken place in this economic climate. Interesting!

"Post Grad" Out Today & New Alexis Interview

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) stars in Post Grad, which opens in theaters today! Alexis Bledel stars as Ryden Malby in Post Grad, a girl who must move back home to her eccentric family after graduating from college. Ryden looks for a job, tries to meet the right guy and to figure out where her life is going. Optimist Ryden becomes frustrated and confused about how her life is ’supposed’ to be. Alexis Bledel Didn't Expect to Be Cast as Rory

Alexis Bledel Teen Choice AwardsAlexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) gave an interview recently to Parade Magazine.

In the interview, Alexis says that the audition process for acting parts was “kind of like a job interview”, even sharing that she only auditioned for Gilmore Girls for fun and for the experience!

“I did it only for the experience, never expecting that I’d get the part of Rory, which changed my life and career.”

Although she’s never been unemployed in the ‘extreme’, Alexis says that her feeling of wanting to get to work after Gilmore Girls was the closest she’s come to experiencing that. Of course, all of these questions related tot he topic of her latest movie, Post Grad, which comes out this weekend.

Alexis continues to talk about what contributed to making her a tired actress, on knowing that work isn’t everything in life, and how she always wants to be open to different experiences in life.

Alexis Bledel on Ryan Seacrest

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) had a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest on August 14th, talking about her new movie, Post Grad, which comes out on August 21st.

Ryan dubs the movie as talking about the “quarter life crisis”, with young people trying to figure out what they want to do with their lives. And, like Ryan points out, life doesn’t often work out as you’d planned it. That’s something Alexis’ character, Ryden, has to figure out.

As an update to Alexis’ schedule (thanks Regis!), she’ll be appearing on Tavis Smiley on PBS on Friday night, at midnight.

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) stars as Ryden Malby in Post Grad, which comes to theaters on August 21st. A new photo of Alexis Bledel and co-star Rodrigo Santoro has been released:
