“Super” Opens in the US

Sean Gunn (Kirk Gleason on Gilmore Girls) and Gregg Henry (Mitchum on Gilmore Girls) both star in a movie written and directed by Sean’s borther, James Gunn: Super. The film had its film festival premiere a long time ago, but it only recently premiered in theatres. Secured with big names like Ellen Page and Liv Tyler, this looks to be a fantastic film!

Movie Summary: When sad-sack loser Frank (Rainn Wilson) sees his ex-addict wife (Liv Tyler) willingly snatched by a seductive drug dealer (Kevin Bacon), he finds himself bereft and wholly unable to cope. But soon he decides to fight back under the guise of a DIY superhero called Crimson Bolt. With a hand-made suit, a wrench, and a crazed sidekick named Boltie (Ellen Page), the Crimson Bolt beats his way through the mean streets of crime in hopes of saving his wife. The rules were written a long time ago: You are not supposed to molest children, cut lines or key cars; if you do, prepare to face the wrath of the Crimson Bolt!

Gregg Henry on “Medium”

Gregg Henry (Mitchum on Gilmore Girls) guest starred in last Friday’s episode of Medium. The episode, ‘Talk to the Hand’, is about Alison needing a skin graft, which ends up having a ‘mind of its own.’

Gregg Henry guest stars as Coach Swanson, the coach of Bridgette’s soccer team… well, of Bridgette. Sort of. I don’t want to give it away. ;)

Thanks Sylvia!

Sean Gunn & Gregg Henry in “Super”

Two Gilmore Girls guys have landed roles in the same upcoming movie! Sean Gunn (Kirk on Gilmore Girls) and Gregg Henry (Mitchum on Gilmore Girls) have signed on for the film Super, written and directed by Sean’s brother James Gunn.

I’ll keep you posted with more film details as they emerge!

Gregg Henry Guests on “Grey’s Anatomy”

Universal Picture's Premiere Of "The Black Dahlia" - Arrivals

Gregg Henry (Mitchum Huntzberger on Gilmore Girls) guest starred last night in a fantastic episode of Grey’s Anatomy. The episode, entitled The Time Warp, featured a very clever series of 3 flashbacks. Into the past of the Chief, of Miranda and of Callie. Gregg Henry made a guest appearance as the Chief of Surgery who was head of Seattle Grace in 1982 when Richard was just a Resident. He was an ass (isn’t he always, in his tv roles??).

I’m a big Grey’s Anatomy fan, and definitely enjoyed this episode! For those of you a fan of the show, hop on over to the new Grey’s News – this site was created by another writer who had to start all over, just like me!

Just a note that I have a LOT of guest appearances to catch up on, as well as movie news. It was hard for Maria to keep up with all of the actors. I hope you guys are interested in seeing those kinds of posts because they take a lot of time to find videos and episode info!! :)

Thanks Sylvia

Gregg Henry Joins "Glee" Cast

Ausiello spilled a little tidbit today about casting of a Gilmore Girls alumnus, and it has everything to do with Gregg Henry, who has been prominent on this site this week (and not on purpose!).

According to the spoiler, Gregg Henry (Mitchum Huntzberger on Gilmore Girls) has been cast as Quinn Fabray’s (Diana Agron) dad in the new FOX series Glee. I saw the teaser premiere earlier this summer and thought it was a fantastic show. I was a little skeptical about a primetime musical comedy, but it was really quite good!

Glee is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 9/8c. No word yet about when we’ll see Gregg on the series, or in how many episodes he’s likely to appear in. I’ll keep you posted!

Gregg Henry Guests on "Dark Blue"

Gregg Henry (Mitchum Huntzberger on Gilmore Girls) guest starred this week on the new TNT series Dark Blue. Gregg appeared in the second episode of the series, ‘Guns, Strippers and Wives’, which aired on July 22nd.

In the episode, it’s Melissa’s (Meta Golding) birthday, but her husband, Ty (Omari Hardwick) is working undercover on a case to bring down a gun trafficker and can’t see her. However, he breaks protocol to spend the night with her. Unfortunately for him, Ty is followed, and the gun dealers become suspicious if he’s on the level. Carter Shaw (Dylan McDermott) then has only 12 hours to put together the $100,000 ransom the dealers are demanding for Ty’s safe return.

In the episode, Gregg plays Jimmy Boyd, presumably one of the dealers (I missed the episode. Here was the preview for this episode:

You should be able to watch the episode in full here within the next day or so.

Gregg Henry in "Hung" – Scenes

Gregg Henry (Mitchum Huntzberger on Gilmore Girls) has a recurring role on HBO’s new dark comedy Hung, which premiered on June 28th. Though there aren’t any episodic images of his guest appearances yet, I have managed to find some video clips! Update: now with an image.

Gregg Henry has appeared in both the Pilot episode and in the second episode, ‘Great Sausage or Can I Call You Dick?’. His character is that of Mike, the assistant basketball coach at the high school where the protagonist, Ray Drecker (Thomas Jane) works as head coach. In this series, Gregg looks like your typical high school teacher – they’re even playing up his receding hairline, it looks like!

Check out Gregg’s appearance in Hung at 1:50 in the video below, which is of the second episode of the series:
