In the episode, Parker represents his ex-girlfriend against an insurance company that refuses to pay out her father’s life-insurance policy. Meanwhile, Kim falls for a controversial pastor who lands in jail while trying to help the poor; and Fred and Stacy face an uncertain future after he sees her kissing her costar.

I haven’t seen the episode yet, so I’m not sure who Edward plays.

Edward Herrmann Voices Roger Ebert’s “Life Itself”

Edward Herrmann (Richard Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) recently lent his voice to the audiobook version of Roger Ebert’s Life Itself: A Memoir.

Roger Ebert is the best-known film critic of our time. Though he lost the ability to eat, drink or speak in 2006, he has continued to be an influential writer. This book tells the story of his life and career. In a post on the Sun Times, Roger shares how “my new voice belongs to Edward Herrmann,” who recorded the audiobook:

“Edward Herrmann is a pro. He positions the material in the foreground but he never tries to sell it. He brings it into existence clearly, concisely, with flawless control of timing and tone. It doesn’t sound as if he’s “reading.” It sounds like he might have had these memories — as if he’s confiding events and conversations he remembers. He’s friendly, but not like some affable uncle crowding you on the sofa. He doesn’t insist that we listen.”

Some very wonderful words of praise! You can also listen to a chapter in the book here, to hear for yourself.

Thanks Taylor

“Hold At All Costs” Narrated by Edward Herrman

Edward Herrmann (Richard Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) is narrating the upcoming documentary film, Hold at All Costs, a film about a specific battle in the Korean War. Edward was chosen as narrator, being known in from his work narrating the audio CD version of David Halberstam’s Korean War book, The Coldest Winter.

In June, 1953, during the last weeks of the Korean War, a battle raged between American soldiers and Chinese Communists for possession of a company-sized piece of ground known as Outpost Harry.

In the course of eight days, eight or ten companies from the 15th Infantry, 3rd Division and 5th Infantry Regiment obeyed their orders to hold Harry “at all costs.” They did so, but at a terrible price.

This is the story of forgotten warriors, in a forgotten battle, of a forgotten war.
