Samantha Who? 2.20 “With the Ring”

On Andrea’s wedding day to gay pro-basketball player Tony Dane, Sam finds herself at a crossroads and must choose between being with Winston Funk or Todd. Meanwhile, Regina and Howard discover that their lives are beginning to take separate paths.

Samantha Who? Highlights:

• Dena and Andrea both enjoy the self-indulgent lifestyle of the rich, as they prep for the wedding the next day. Sam doesn’t enjoy it.
• Andrea wants Winston at the wedding, but Sam isn’t yet ready to be a “power couple”…. or for Todd to see photos of them together.
• Chapman comes to drop off Dena’s stuffed animal and Dena, when talking about a how-well-do-you-know-Andrea bachelorette game, drops about Sam’s amnesia. He never knew, and Sam was his best performer for a year! Knowing nothing!
• Regina is now on the RV, cleaning up the mess. Howard confesses to picking up a hitch hiker, a woman “half Regina’s size”. She stalks out, for a number of reasons.
• Funk comes by dressed as a waiter to deliver Andrea a wedding present – his island, for their honeymoon. He’s also trying to impress Sam with his riches – she’s not impressed by that
• With some prodding, Sam invites Winston to the wedding
• Sam is holding up Andrea’s dress pretending it’s her wedding… when Todd calls… then walks in… to take Sam to the wedding!
• Sam spilled orange juice on the dress… so she tries to cover it with goat cheese, like ‘spackle’
• Todd clues in, that Sam has a date for the wedding. Sam mumbles ‘some guy from work’ and Todd guesses Funk. A fight ensues.
• Sam says they’re always out of synch and Todd gets angry that Sam can never make up her mind to be with him. He storms out, but not before finding and taking his engagement ring for Sam with him!
• Regina confronts Howard with photos of him from 4 days of his roadtrip, assuming (correctly) that the hitchhiker stayed with Howard all that time!

Samantha Who? 2.19 “The Other Woman”

Sam discovers that billionaire Winston Funk’s ex-wife, Gigi (Angie Harmon), played an important role in her life before the accident. Meanwhile, Chapman attempts to propose to a reluctant Dena, and Regina’s love of the city life may cause a roadblock in the plan to have her meet up with Howard on the road for their RV trip across the country.

Samantha Who? Highlights:

• Todd has been in London for 2 weeks. He and Sam are catching up by video chat. He’s super excited about his new job and about London. Sam seems sad.
• Sam gets jealous that Todd’s roommate, Mickey, is a gorgeous girl
• Feeling like she’s in Todd’s past, Sam decides to go with her mom to a fancy function hosted by Winston Funk in honor of the Foundation that Sam runs for him
• Regina is apparently skipping out on the RV trip with Howard.
• Regina advises Sam to start dating Winston – something he’s more than happy to encourage.
• Winston’s ex arrives at the function – the ex that Winston was cheating on when he first started going out with the pre-amnesia Sam. She’s gorgeous, this Gigi (guest star Angie Harmon), and a $400 million woman, after the divorce ;)
• Turns out Gigi knew about Sam and Winston, calling her a “homewrecking whore.” Sam tries to explain the amnesia and that she isn’t with Funk anymore.
• Gigi actually likes Sam, making her drop her angry vengeance plans.
• Gigi asks Sam for help getting back together with Winston
• Dena is having lunch with Chapman, the two of them having trouble coming up with time to see each other. His one free day is Andrea’s wedding, and he isn’t invited (either on his own or as Dena’s +1). Andrea apparently believes couples shouldn’t both be invited unless they’re married.
• Faced with that, Chapman “proposes” to Dena, saying “why don’t we just get married”

Samantha Who? 2.18 “The First Date”

Samantha tries to find balance between her new job and Todd. Andrea is shadowed by a camera crew for a new reality show on celebrity weddings. Howard’s retirement causes problem with Regina.

Sadly, the latest news indicates that “Samantha Who?” is not likely to find a home on another tv network!

Samantha Who? Highlights:

• Sam loves her job. Loves having the Senate on her speed dial, even if saying ‘no’ to charities is sad.
• Winston comes by to woo Sam, but when Sam realizes the time, Sam realizes she missed her first date with Todd – and the 14 calls he made to her after.
• Todd went from being mad to being resigned – after 10 calls, he remembered how “awful” it was to be in a relationship with Sam before. He’s glad she reminded him early of why she’s not good for him.
• Sam tries to tell Todd she’s changed and she wants to balance the important things in her life – including him. They try to set a date, but failed… until Sam cancels another work meeting later in the week.
• Sam envisions a full life with Todd, while Andrea tries to get Sam to fall for Funk instead. Because he’s rich.
• And we transition to a new camera… this one, from a reality show taping Andrea for Superstar Weddings, a reality tv series
• Regina shows up at the bar somewhat disheveled. Howard is exhausting her since he retired. All he wants is sex, which seems to be boring her, even though it’s fun. Sam recommends they make lists of their retirement plans, to get back into synch.
• Winston calls and tells Sam about a dinner he had to cancel on with a Senator. He wants Sam to go. She tries to say she can’t, but he reminds her that she wants the Foundation to be taken seriously. Yet she can’t bear to tell Todd. Instead she tries to get him to go to the Harrison club (a stuffy old people place) instead of the trendy new Stingray. He goes along.

Samantha Who? 2.17 “The Dream Job”

After Winston hires her to head his charity foundation, Samantha hires Andrea to be her vice president of legal affairs; Dena, hoping to be a bridesmaid, offers to help Andrea with the wedding plans.

In this episode, we are now back on the pre-cancellation timeline (the last 3 were not edited to remove time discrepancies).

Samantha Who? Highlights:

• Sam now has a job, but she has NO idea what to do!
• Sam’s assistant, Tyler, gave her 8 different coffees, not knowing what she liked. Then Sam does a dance in her new office, which is really just a *huge* boardroom
• Who walks in on Sam dancing? Winston Funk, of course. He tries to romance her, while she wants to “find needy people” for his $30 million
• In a little power spat, it’s decided that Sam will hold a press conference the next day after she’s decided on her first charity contribution
• Turns out, that may be difficult. Tyler is in the lobby being mobbed by pitches from charities! Sam then revises the press conference to next Friday ;)
• Dena is begging Andrea to be in her wedding. She really wants to be a bridesmaid. Andrea hints that if Dena runs her errands, she’ll be in the wedding
• Andrea has picked a Southern Belle dress for Sam – to make her look horrible, so she herself can shine!
• Sam feels guilt now with the charities – thinking saying ‘yes’ to one is saying ‘no’ to thousands of others. Like a life / death situation.

Samantha Who? 2.15 “Todd’s Job”
Air Date: July 2, 2009

After realizing that “old” Sam may have been responsible for Todd’s not becoming a successful photographer, “new” Sam sets out to sabotage his competition for a job at a local newspaper. Meanwhile Regina, who is desperate for a new listing in order to continue touting her real estate partnership with Sam, puts Dena’s house on the market – unbeknownst to Dena.

Samantha Who? Highlights:

• Sam begins to think herself unlucky that Todd is always in her way at their apartment.
• Feeling crowded in her own place, she heads over to her parents’ house. A brief moment of peace lapses when they come home early!
• Regina shares news that their townhouse listing sold! Except to her, it’s bad news. Because it was their only listing, and she thinks you need a listing to get more listings.
• Regina thinks it’d be a good idea to list their house (not to sell, but just list). Howard doesn’t want strangers in the house.
• Learning that Todd will be at the movies, Sam returns home… except Todd is still there.
• Sam confesses she never gets to be at home by herself because Todd is always there
• Sam remembers that she was the one who didn’t pass Todd the message about a photo opportunity at a collapsed mine… which got another photographer a Pulitzer prize. Oops!
• Since Todd is now up against that photographer for a full-time job, Sam wants to get this other guy (Wes) out of the picture. To cover her guilt and get him out working.
• Dena gets a call that there’s an open house going on at her place! She returns home to find Regina there!
