Hallelujah is about a stranger who comes to the small town of Hallelujah, Tenn. to bring “justice, peace and restore the faith in the world”. This is a town where “good and evil are exemplified” by a diner owner, Rye Turner, a man who had a run of tragic luck, and by a corrupt millionaire named Del Roman. A gospel choir will back up each episode with songs.

Arielle is tapped to play a girl of the name of Veda Roman. The cast currently includes Jesse L. Martin, Donal Logue and Frances O’Connor.

This is all great news for Arielle, whose most recent series, Life Unexpected, was dropped.

Liza Weil Cast in “Damage Control”

Liza Weil (Paris Gellar on Gilmore Girls) has joined the cast of ABCs buzz-worthy new pilot from Shonda Rhimes, Damage Control.

Damage Control is based on the career of legendary crisis management consultant Judy Smith. As a PR firm, we can expect this will have the same feel of legal dramas, I would think. The cast so far includes Kerry Washington, Henry Ian Cusack, Jeff Perry, and Darby Stanchfield.

Liza Weil, who has worked with Shonda on Private Practice and Grey’s Anatomy, will have a recurring role as Amanda. Her character may be romantically involved with the president.

Krysten Ritter Lands “Bitch” Comedy

Krysten Ritter (Lucy on Gilmore Girls) has landed a new starring role in upcoming comedy pilot Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apt. 23 for ABC. Krysten has a lead role as the “bitch” in the series, with none other than James Van Der Beek as her best friend.

Krysten will play Chloe, an “out of control NYC party girl who terrorizes her new Midwestern roommate, June (played by Dreama Walker).”

This show is being touted as one of the “funniest half-hour scripts in years,” so I’m looking forward to seeing the pilot!!

Riki Lindhome: New CD & HBO Pilot Development

Riki Lindhome (Juliet from the Life & Death Brigade on Gilmore Girls), apart from acting, is a musician along with Kate Micucci. Together they form a comedy-folk duo called Garfunkel and Oates. Garfunkel and Oates just released a new CD, All Over Your Face, on February 1st (explicit music). Not only that, there’s the potential that the musical pair will get an HBO series, as they’ve been signed on to develop a comedy based on the Garfunkel and Oates musical act.

The LA Times recently interviewed the duo, and took these great photos:

Looks like there’s a lot on the horizon for Riki!

Danny Strong to Guest on “How I Met Your Mother”

Danny Strong (Doyle on Gilmore Girls) is set to guest star in the CBS comedy, How I Met Your Mother.

The episode Danny will appear in will air in January when he will guest star as a “noogey-loving bully from Marshall’s [Jason Segel] past.”

Danny has also recently completed work on a short called The Rooster, which he also wrote. It’s a short about losing a “rooster” – aka your manhood – after a break-up.

The film will star Chad Michael Murray, Abigail Spencer, Katee Sackhoff and Emily Alyn Lind as the four members of the real-life Wyrick family, a family that is haunted by ghosts and a mystery in their new home.
