Carole King Releases Christmas Album

518lOAgdc4L SL500 AA300 Carole King is known to all Gilmore Girls fans, if only for her beautiful adaptation of her hit “Where You Lead” (on her album Tapestry) to become the Gilmore Girls theme-song. Carole has just released a new Christmas album, A Holiday Carole.

In a recent interview with the BBC, Carole talks about how she didn’t enjoy singing Where You Lead until it had been remade for Gilmore Girls - made for the love between a mother and daughter. Prior to that, the song came out too close to when the feminist movement took hold, she says. Very interesting.

Carole lists more appearances and videos on her website that are recent, from promoting the album. She is also on Twitter here.

Here is an interview with Carole as well as some snippets from the album:

Sebastian Bach Releases “Kicking & Screaming”

Sebastian Bach (Gil on Gilmore Girls) is releasing his latest CD, ‘Kicking & Screaming,’ on September 27th. He’s already launched the music video for the title track.

Of the album, Sebastian says:

“This CD will follow along the lines of ‘Skid Row’, ‘Slave To The Grind’, ‘Subhuman Race’ and ‘Angel Down’. If you like rockin’ guitar riffs, high-energy songs and performances, deadly drums of doom, and ear-shattering screams, we got your rock right here! [The songs are] heavy, interesting, classic sounding, modern sounding, completely rock ‘n’ roll — just how we like it!”

Here’s a music video to for the title track of the album:

Here’s an interview with Sebastian about the album:

Gilmore Girls Theme Song a Classic

BuddyTV put together a list of the 101 Greatest TV Theme Songs of All Time. And what list on theme songs would be complete without a tribute to Gilmore Girls?? ‘Where You Lead’ by Carole King is just amazing!

But it should have been #1 on the list, not #92!!

Thanks Sylvia!

Sebastian Bach Lands Multi-Album Contract

Sebastian Bach (Gil on Gilmore Girls) has experienced a mixture of bad and good fortunes lately. On the bad front, it was recently announced that he and his wife, Maria Bierk, are getting divorced after 9 years of marriage and 3 children. Always sad news to hear.

On the flip side, Bach has landed with Frontiers Records for a multi-album, worldwide recording contract. He is heading to the studio this month to work on his new album, which could come out as early as this summer.

“Expect an album full of high-energy rock n’ roll with kick-ass clean and clear vocals, along with me laying down the craziest screams I have recorded in my life thus far”

Sebastian Bach has tweeted from time to time about his frustration with landing big record deals, so I’m quite excited for him!

Riki Lindhome: New CD & HBO Pilot Development

Riki Lindhome (Juliet from the Life & Death Brigade on Gilmore Girls), apart from acting, is a musician along with Kate Micucci. Together they form a comedy-folk duo called Garfunkel and Oates. Garfunkel and Oates just released a new CD, All Over Your Face, on February 1st (explicit music). Not only that, there’s the potential that the musical pair will get an HBO series, as they’ve been signed on to develop a comedy based on the Garfunkel and Oates musical act.

The LA Times recently interviewed the duo, and took these great photos:
