Gilmore Girls Cast on Twitter – Updated

As Felicia shared with you this week, Lauren Graham is now on Twitter (@thelaurengraham). I took some time tonight to update my Twitter list that features all the known official Twitter pages for past Gilmore Girls actors. The list now contains 31 profiles and is the most extensive collection of members out there!

I attempted to do some research to find other cast members that I may have missed but could not find any others. If you know of profiles I missed, drop them in the comments. Thanks!

Contribute to GilmoreNews

I want to take a moment to thank all of you who have made GilmoreNews a wonderful and bright community. I began writing this site in 2005, though it underwent two name changes over the years. For a while, it was a part of a blog network and helped me earn a living. I have always cherished the community here beyond all others and continued to write the site as long as I could. As you can tell, at one point that became impossible for me.

As most loyal readers know, I became a mom in 2009 and managed to keep up the site while working and parenting full time. When I became pregnant a second time, however, I had a harder time keeping up – I was sick and in pain most of my pregnancy. I kept having to put off my writing to tend to my own health and the weeks just added up. I gave birth to my second son just 3 months ago now; things are great. I have two wonderful boys:

And yet, this site still nags at me. I do miss it a lot. And I feel responsible for neglecting this community – my most sincere apologies! As you can imagine, parenting two boys full-time and working while they sleep has left me very little time for my hobbies. As such, I’d like to ask if YOU would like to contribute here? If so, drop me an email

I’m looking for contributors who will work fairly independently. I will give you remote access to the site to publish new content, under certain guidelines. I will set you up with style guidelines and tips on how to write good quality content (I used to teach this stuff!). It’s not a requirement that you know anything about blogging, but it does help.

Topics I’d suggest include:

  • Discussions of past episodes – randomly or via a shared schedule with other community members. I’ve done the whole series 3 times and it was great fun.
  • Appearances of cast members
  • Guest appearances of cast members on tv shows
  • Upcoming movies of cast members
  • Interviews with cast members
  • Analysis of episodes that cast members star in on full-time shows (I was doing recaps for The Good Wife, Parenthood, Mike & Molly)
  • Fan videos

If you would like to tackle writing for GilmoreNews on a regular basis, let me know! If you have a specific topic you’d like to cover regularly, let me know so that I can juggle that (in case there are multiple people interested).

Although this is not a paid position, I can offer you guidance and training in blogging, which you can apply to your resume. I have been a professional blogger since 2005 and have trained several dozen writers (many of whom now blog full time too!).

David Sutcliffe Answers GilmoreNews.com Questions – Part 2

In follow up to the first part of the interview, David Sutcliffe (Christopher Hayden on Gilmore Girls) answers more questions about his life and career. I admire David for opening up in the way he did with these answers and in his other vlog entries – stardom aside, it takes great courage to open up in the way he’s been doing.

David answers the following questions in the interview:

You’ve recently taken to writing more on Twitter, on your Tumblr and with your vlog. Could you tell us what inspired this open confidence?

You’ve put a lot of work into the “Group” series – could you give us a little background on where you’re at with that and what needs to happen to get it to air?

[For more on Group, read here and contribute here.]

Are you currently working on any other acting projects?

[This answer will make you *sniff*]

Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?

Lightning round of questions:

Worst travel experience: unanswered
Favorite food: Burritos
Last book you read: Freedom
Something most people would be surprised to know about you: I don’t think there are any more, considering these videos!

At the end of the video David puts out a big thanks to Gilmore Girls fans! :)

David Sutcliffe Answers GilmoreNews.com Questions

After tweeting with David Sutcliffe (Christopher Hayden on Gilmore Girls) about his project, Group, (Go support it!) he was kind enough to agree to an interview. He answered a series of questions via his video blog – here’s Part 1 of the 2-part interview!

GilmoreNews.com – Did you always want to pursue acting? Tell us a little about your journey into this field

David: I did not always want to pursue acting. I grew up as a jock: I was a hockey player then a basketball player. That was really my identity. I was asked to audition for a school play in high school, because I was good at reading aloud in class, Shakespeare and that kind of thing, so there was some recognition of some potential for talent… I said no, of course, as a jock and ‘we don’t do theatre.’ Secretly, I wanted to do it. I went to the play and watched it and had some excitement and some fantasies around ‘Maybe I could do that…”

Finally, when I got to college, the opportunity presented itself. I got injured while playing for the basketball team and I was living with a playwright and he asked me to audition for his play and I did. And that was it.

How did you get casted for your role as Christopher on Gilmore Girls?

I just went in for a general audition. I remember getting the sides (the script, the audition scenes) and feeling like I had a pretty good handle on it. I worked really hard at it. The show, at the time, was still new, in its first season, but there was a little bit of buzz about it. People were talking about it, writing about it, because the writing was so good. I could see that. The writing was really strong, so it was fun to play with. [Read more...]

Aaron Berman, the author of the book, hinted a while ago about the contest, and now it’s here! Thanks to Aaron, I have one copy of the book to give away to a dedicated Gilmore Girls fan!

How to Enter

Simply leave a comment on this post. I encourage you to be creative, however, and challenge you to answer this question: What is your most memorable Gilmore Girls watching experience?

My experience, for example, is in watching ‘Raincoats and Recipes.’ I was away on a family vacation with my mom but we were determined to watch this season finale. We sat down with my cousins and I vividly recall the experience of us all yelling at the tv when Rory made her decision to be the ‘other woman’ in Dean’s life.

The contest will close on March 15th at 2pm PST. The winner will be drawn randomly and will be emailed to ask for his/her address and will be announced here on the site.

One entry per person. A valid email address must be included in the email part of the comment form.
