I know that I personally get a little misty-eyed this time of year, missing all the wonderful Gilmore Girls episodes around winter and Christmas. Those were always my favourites. Here’s a fan video on Gilmore Girls Christmases that really moved me:

EW’s Mandi is obviously a Gilmore Girls fan. When watching an upcoming movie, Hallmark’s Growing the Big One, the preview included a town meeting… and who can think of a town meeting without thinking of Stars Hollow?! Well, not Mandi (or me!).
The town does seem very Stars Hollow-ish with the whole pumpkin festival!!
Mandi asks a good question – are there certain scenes / shots in other shows that make you think of Gilmore Girls? For me, junk food and coffee on other shows make me nostalgic for Gilmore Girls.

[drumroll]… do you think Gilmore Girls was named as best or worst??
Ok, so you can’t be surprised. Worst. “The closing bit of banter between Lorelai and Rory at Luke’s is, in a word, eh. And while eh ordinarily doesn’t mean terrible, it does when you – and the beloved series – deserve fireworks.”
In ‘The Nanny and the Professor‘, Rory keeps catching Paris kissing Asher Fleming, a professor who is 60 years old! Paris is hiding this from Rory, lying and saying she’s still with Jamie, but Lorelai suggests to Rory that probably Paris & Asher are doing “older man things” aside from just kissing.
I want to know what you think about this relationship… is Paris simply in awe of a man so smart, thereby thinking him attractive despite his age? Is she being taken advantage of? Does she truly not care about his age? If so, why try to hide it all from Rory?
And later, when it seems like Paris wants to ooh and ahh about it to Rory, saying dreamily “I smell like pip tobacco,” she seems to be head over heels for Asher… or maybe just the concept of him, or his attention for her. Maybe she feels more special because someone “important” is paying attention to her?

In ‘Chicken or Beef‘, Rory finds out that Dean and Lindsay are getting married. Nobody had told her. Of course, Dean invites Rory to the wedding when he sees her, and that’s just awkward in itself.
However, what I wanted to ask is this: were you surprised to hear Dean was getting married?
I can argue both sides. On the one side, we know that Dean is definitely a “serious relationship” kind of guy. He’s had 2 relationships before, including Rory, and he goes all-out on them. There’s no “dating” in Dean’s vocabulary. On the other hand, he’s been seeing Lindsay for less than a year and he was “supposed” to be very in love with Rory prior to that. So was he simply trying to forget Rory by marrying Lindsay?
