While Gilmore Girls may have been noticeably snubbed at this year’s Emmy Awards – and all Emmy Awards of the past – Gilmore Girls star Alexis Bledel took home her first Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress for A Handmaid’s Tale. Alexis took him the award at last week’s Creative Arts Emmy and was on hand last night at the Emmy Awards to present one of the awards, and taking the stage once again as The Handmaid’s Tale accepted the award for Outstanding Drama Series.
“I just remember feeling really surprised and really honored to accept this. I’m so grateful to be a part of this show, so being singled out for being on this show is just very special to me personally.
It’s really an incredible thing when creating art inspires conversation and is thought provoking enough to stand out in this way. It’s really just an honor to do the work and be a part of that and be a part of the conversation in that way.”

Show writer, Bruce Miller, took a nod to Gilmore Girls in accepting his own award, thanking MGM and Hulu for “supporting us when we wanted to do horrible things to Rory Gilmore.”
