Nick Holmes’ “Time Spent Falling” Event & GIVEAWAY

Nick Holmes, the Life & Death Brigade’s Robert on Gilmore Girls, recently released his first book of poetry, Time Spent Falling. This book represents Robert’s first published work as a poet, adding to his creative career as an actor and photographer. When I interviewed Nick prior to the release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, the book of poetry was something he was only hoping to release, so it’s very exciting to see this dream of Nick’s come to fruition.

In many ways, poetry is the music of literature. It often reflects the changing moods and trends in society. But somewhere along the way, we have lost the gift of language. TIME SPENT FALLING is reminiscent of a time when that gift was treasured. In rich tones, the reader travels through a world of sensual discovery; an awakening heart with a deep sense of longing. This is not a book about a couple. It is the point of view of a man alone who desires the rain as much as he wants to fly too close to the sun. -Virginia Madsen

If you’re in LA, you can hear some of Nick’s poetry in person at an upcoming event on January 19th (details below). We also have a chance for you to WIN a personally autographed copy of Time Spent Falling!

TICKET INFORMATION

This is an encore event, following a very successful launch of the event with Nick in Reno this past November.

His view of the space in which he lives and how intimately he touches each person he interacts with is truly unrivaled by most people I know. Our evening together at The Beckwith Gallery was both inspiring and rich with photography, love, introspection and poetry. Nick’s engagement each person in the audience is something you only see in people with deep human connection and it was an honor to host him as my first guest.

The Life and Death Brigade scenes were my favorite part of the revival. Magical.

In Gilmore Girls, my favorite is a tie between the jump in You Jump I Jump Jack and the conversation without “e’s”. I’ve tried it and it’s hard.

In AYITL, my favorite is the Wizard of Oz goodbye. It was one of my grandmother’s favorite movies.

Definitely the jump. It’s just classic L&DB. In omnia paratus!
