Lauren Graham attended a couple of events this week to promote her new book, Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls, and Everything in Between. The book has already landed a #1 spot on Amazon UK’s New Releases chart, which is very exciting!First, she headed to the 92nd Street Y for a big release event, including a Q&A session hosted by Michael Ausiello about both the book and the revival. In the interview, Lauren admits to how much the final episode, ‘Fall,’ made her cry:

“I couldn’t read ‘Fall’, I just couldn’t read it,” the actress admitted. “I even think — and I’m sorry — I shot a couple scenes without having read the whole thing. I was on this crazy high and feeling so thankful and so pleased with what the material was, I almost didn’t want to know how it ended. I was worried where it was going and what if I’m disappointed. But finally I had to do it, ’cause I really had to film it, and I sat at the kitchen table and I cried from page one all the way to the end. It was the biggest emotional experience.”

Lauren Graham had to sign some huge stacks of her book for the appearance, which she shared in funny photos on Twitter:

Next, Lauren appeared at Barns & Noble Union Square on December 2nd to talk about her book and sign copies for those in attendance.

I downloaded the audio version of Lauren’s book, though I am usually a physical book kinda gal. SO glad I did. It is lovely to hear her read her own stories and bring her words to life. It is like having a long walk and talk with her on the WB backlot Stars Hollow set. She is warm, funny, witty and down to earth, all of it reflected in her writing. Such good insights into her experiences being Lorelei Gilmore, then and again. Great writing, perfect antidote for post-election tensions and a great prep for the holidays. I enjoyed it so much I listened to it twice straight through.

I agree. The audio book shows yet another facet of Lauren Graham’s extraordinary talent. Plus it provides so much insight into her persona. Loved it and so glad I made the purchase.
