The Character We Were Least Expecting to Meet

Well, the biggest shocker of the revival, for me at least, was the introduction of Mr. Kim! I kind of expected that Mr. Kim would remain one of those elusive mysteries, forever toying with us Gilmore Girls fans! After speaking with Keiko earlier this year on her Mr. Kim theories, I had assumed Mr. Kim would continue to remain absent. Well, wrong!

Right dab in the middle of the Stars Hollow International Food Festival, Lane tells Rory, “Oh hey, my Dad’s here!” All casual. And there he is, waving! Like nothing’s the matter!

So, I guess the question is, where was Mr. Kim hiding all of these years?! Keiko shared with me that she always felt like Mrs. Kim was married (actively, not divorced or widowed) and that she felt like Mr. Kim was often simply traveling. And that religion “played a part in it somehow.”

There were a lot of unexpected casting moments. This was a big one for me. The surprise guest stars (Peter Krause!) were another. And the swapping of Chad Michael Murray for some other Tristan was also quite the shocker.

i was so pleasantly surprised to see Peter Krause in the revival! i don’t really care for celebrity couples, but Lauren Graham & Peter Krause are one of my favorite (maybe cause they keep such a low profile and also i love both of them & their work) and the scene they had together just made me all giddy. all i could see in that scene really was Lauren and Peter getting to work together (again). i needed to rewatch the scene to focus on it as Lorelai vs. Parkranger and not as them as actors :D.

So now we need more Parenthood and another Gilmore revival 2? Sound great doesn’t it!

I loved to see Peter Krause and Jason Ritter making a cameo (also Mae Whitman – but we already knew about her).
I always assumed Mr. Kim was the one who got all the antiques to SH, so he was always traveling!

I noticed Scott Patterson’s wife (or maybe girlfriend) was in the scene with Mae Whitman, too.
