If you didn’t have a chance to visit the Festival of the Four Seasons this past weekend or the Gilmore Girls Fan Fest in October, you may feel you’ve missed out on a chance to see Stars Hollow come to life. As you know, the inspiration for Stars Hollow came from the small town of Washington, Connecticut and little bits of surrounding towns and landmarks in Connecticut. These places are real and you can visit them anytime!
Embracing the fans that have taken local landmarks to heart, and to celebrate the release of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, The Connecticut Office of Tourism has created a roadmap for you, with suggested itineraries and getaways, taking you on a tour of the “Real” Stars Hollow. On your drive through the northwestern part of Connecticut, you will stop in towns like New Milford, Litchfield and Washington, stopping at The Hickory Stick Bookshop (Stars Hollow Books), Farmhouse Antiques (Mrs Kim’s), the Bridgewater Village Store (Luke’s) and even this iconic gazebo in New Milford.
Take a Gilmore Girls vacation to the Real Stars Hollow and share your photos along the way, tagging them with #CTvisit and #RealStarsHollow. You can find a handy guide to the best selfie spots here.
This post was sponsored by the Connecticut Office of Tourism but the content and opinions are entirely my own. I would totally take this tour.
