7 New Minutes of Gilmore Girls Aired

Share

Aside from the trailer already released, Netflix released some footage of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life at Entertainment Weekly’s PopFest today, as promised. The event included a panel with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino and featured never-before-seen footage from the upcoming 4-part revival. In all honesty, many of the clips are extended versions of clips we saw in the trailer, but with more Stars Hollow charm.

The footage is starts from the Winter episode, showing Rory unpacking her stuff after returning from Brooklyn. After this, footage jumps ahead to the Spring episode and all the drama associated with the International Food Festival (ah, Taylor!).

Sorry for the poor quality of the capture, as it was taken by a fan’s phone during the event. I’ll replace it when a higher quality version comes out.

Next we see some footage of Rory and Lorelai at the pool during the Summer episode criticizing all the people choosing to swim in pools or expose their bodies to the sun.

Following the same pattern, we can presume the next clip is of the Fall episode, particularly as Michel is giving out candy at the Dragonfly Inn, trying not to sound like a “child molester.”

We also have clips of a town meeting (OMG a ‘little birds’ reference for Taylor!) where Taylor is complaining about ‘B’ list celebrities staying in the town, while the ‘A’ list stars are in Woodbury.

Our final scene is the most somber, with Emily sitting behind Richard’s desk, confronting Luke about whether or not he has a will. There’s a beautiful note about Emily still smelling Richard’s cigars in there, though she seems much more put together at this point in the series. I wonder which Season it’s from?

we were two rows away from the Palladinos today. BEST DAY EVER 🎉 #gilmoregirls #ewpopfest

Loved the food festival, but the Emily scene knocked it out of the park.

“Within an hour”. Oh, Richard… :(

Loved the scene with Emily and Luke. “…within the hour. He was very proud of that.” lol. It almost sounds like he killed him.

I hope that the revival will give people a good ending, that doesn’t happen very often anymore.Television has changed so much. There are no family shows anymore, so I hope the revival will give us a nice end, maybe with family thst grows up to do another g g or extend to a new show.

    Thanks.

Nice clip where ASP refers to Emily as the third Gilmore Girl. It’s true that Emily and Richard were such an important factor, their relationship with Lorelai was one of the main focal points of the show. I think it gave Lorlai substance and I also like the fact there were glimpses of life outside of Stars Hollow. The stuffy scenes at the Gilmore Mansion were a good counterbalance to the craziness that is Stars Hollow.

Loved the last scene. Richard and Emily included Luke in the family. Creepy but also so sweet!
Also the international food festival was interesting- what was that about Luke and Rory needing to watch Lorelai…she has always had a crazy appetite but this seemed a little different….hmmm….is she pregnant?
I wish there was a hint about whether Lorelai is pregnant…I want to see Sid and Nancy or Leopold and Loeb!

Is there a different link? It says it has been taken down due to a copyright claim from Netflix.

That will likely happen to any link, sadly! If Netflix doesn’t want it out there, they are going to lock down any link out there.
