Aside from the trailer already released, Netflix released some footage of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life at Entertainment Weekly’s PopFest today, as promised. The event included a panel with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino and featured never-before-seen footage from the upcoming 4-part revival. In all honesty, many of the clips are extended versions of clips we saw in the trailer, but with more Stars Hollow charm.
The footage is starts from the Winter episode, showing Rory unpacking her stuff after returning from Brooklyn. After this, footage jumps ahead to the Spring episode and all the drama associated with the International Food Festival (ah, Taylor!).
Sorry for the poor quality of the capture, as it was taken by a fan’s phone during the event. I’ll replace it when a higher quality version comes out.
Next we see some footage of Rory and Lorelai at the pool during the Summer episode criticizing all the people choosing to swim in pools or expose their bodies to the sun.
Following the same pattern, we can presume the next clip is of the Fall episode, particularly as Michel is giving out candy at the Dragonfly Inn, trying not to sound like a “child molester.”
We also have clips of a town meeting (OMG a ‘little birds’ reference for Taylor!) where Taylor is complaining about ‘B’ list celebrities staying in the town, while the ‘A’ list stars are in Woodbury.
Our final scene is the most somber, with Emily sitting behind Richard’s desk, confronting Luke about whether or not he has a will. There’s a beautiful note about Emily still smelling Richard’s cigars in there, though she seems much more put together at this point in the series. I wonder which Season it’s from?
