Netflix has released the 4 new production stills to the remainder of the media, after their early release to EW, revealing a stunning look at four new scenes in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The first photo clearly has the greatest impact, and I’m not alone in thinking most of us will be in tears for this scene. Lauren once noted,
“There’s a line [in the script] about how time has passed and how that feels… and hanging over all of it is the absence of Ed [Herrmann, who played Gilmore patriarch Richard], which, obviously the [revival] addresses. But that’s where we’re all starting from, and it feels so real. It’s hard to be here without him.”
For all of us, I think I can say that we dread this scene and what Gilmore Girls will be like without Edward Herrmann, who was always one of the greatest supporters and lovers of Gilmore Girls, and Richard, who was the backbone of the family and one of my favourite characters.
Although it has been assumed up until this point that the first image would be a part of the Winter episode, which is said to address Richard’s death, the clothes being worn by the girls and now the Netflix release of the image (which labels it for Summer), seems to contradict when the scene takes place. We can only wait and see!
