Bonita Friedericy Joins Gilmore Girls… As A Nun?

Share

In my daily quest to keep my site up-to-date, I scour the web for news of guest stars joining the Gilmore Girls revival, Gilmore Girls: Seasons, whether they have a large part or a small. Most of the time, we don’t know who will be significant or not. In one such venture, I discovered that Bonita Friedericy had joined the cast. As a NUN, of all things.

Now, why would there be a Nun on Gilmore Girls? And, not only that, she is credited as “Nun #1,” suggesting there will be MORE Nuns.

I was fan of the comedy Chuck, in which Bonita played NSA General Diane Beckman for five seasons, but she’s had a prolific career on tv, including as a Borg drone on Star Trek: Enterprise! Totally recognizable, now that you see the photo!

I suppose that the presence of Nuns could be as simple as… Richard having left something to a local Catholic Church or charity… It’s also possible that it is simply to do with one of the many charities that Emily is usually involved with or considering Lauren Graham is on record as saying that she’s Catholic.. perhaps AS-P has decided to incorporate that into the show by making the Gilmore family Catholic and the nuns are simply present in a flash back of either the funeral or perhaps even a hospital

It was stated in at least one episode of Gilmore Girls that the Gilmore family was Protestant. Also, in the episode where Sookie and Jackson have their children baptized, Lorelai and Rory state clearly to Rev. Skinner that they are not associated with any church.

No, remember the Reverand they had to dinner. Definitely Protestant.

I think the point was not that Lorelai is Catholic, but that Lauren Graham in real life is Catholic.

It could be a dream sequence sorta thing, Lorelai & Rory always have weird dreams when changes happen in their lives, & their dreams don’t make sense. And with there being a musical in Stars Hollow maybe the dream is like Sound of Music “How Do We Solve a Problem Like Lorelai?” I know it’s far fetched but it would be fun.
