Jared Padalecki Tells Fans More About Dean’s Return

Share

Jared Padalecki appeared at HoustonCon 2016, which celebrates his show Supernatural, along with his Supernatural co-stars. The stars are known for being very interactive at these conferences, and this one was no different. Thankfully, we had some Gilmore Girls fans in the audience.

After recently confirming that he would be returning to Gilmore Girls to reprise his role as Dean Forrester, even mentioning it in his latest video, Jared confirmed a few small (but important) details about his return to Gilmore Girls. As you know, the series is returning in 4 90-minute episodes, each filmed as a different season in the year, hence the title, Gilmore Girls: Seasons

Although this is bad news for #TeamDean, Jared confirmed to the audience that he would only be returning in 1 episode of Gilmore Girls, set to be filmed this Friday in LA. So, it looks like his potential involvement in the show is more of a brief ‘visit’ than a continuation of a storyline.

Milo Ventimiglia recently confirmed that he would be returning for 3 episodes of Gilmore Girls, although we don’t know which 3 episodes, giving us a fair amount of insight into the greater significance of Jess’ return to Stars Hollow.

We are happy to have Jared reprising his role of Dean. We hope that Dean has found success and happiness. Maybe he’s married again? Maybe he went to school? Maybe he started his own construction business? What do you think?

If he’s filming now, then I’m guessing he’s in the WINTER episode. I honestly didn’t expect Dean to be in more than one episode – I’m not really sure how much more story there is to get from his character, his character was only really there for Rory and tha relationship was beyond exhausted. I didn’t care for Dean much the last we saw of him but I did like him the first season. What I’d like to see for this character, is a grown, mature man that has fully moved on from Rory, perhaps even married again with children. I think that would be the best ending for Dean.

Actually, what I’d quite like to see is perhaps a scene between Dean and Jess as grown men putting there differences behind them.

IMDB only has him listed as being in one episode, as well. I guess he’s too busy filming Supernatural to be able to commit to anything more than that. I also found it interesting to hear he’s working for SAG minimum and that he said he would have done it for free if he could. He’s just happy and excited to have been asked to do it at all.

IMdB isn’t a reliable source, they crowdsource most information. Insiders can, of course, edit the profile as well, but typically do so much closer to release dates.

The IMdB definately isn’t 100% reliable for this. The person who filled in the episode count for Milo posted a message about it on one of the MB threads. Basically they knew the episode count was correct but the specific episodes were a guess because the site makes you fill in the episode name or it wouldn’t accept it. I have no idea about the rest of the cast but I’m pretty sure alot of it is wrong otherwise nearly everyone is in the Winter episode and only about four people in the other 3.

I think one episode sounds right for his character. I wasn’t a huge fan of Dean towards the end of Gilmore Girls so I’m hoping this gives him a chance to redeem himself and for us to be reminded of the nice guy he used to be. I’d like for him to be happy, possibly married and in a good job.

Could we have all been wrong about the episode he’s in? Because in the Batman v Superman promo video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLHK443KGdU) he’s on the Gilmore Girls set and judging by the pumpkins and hay bales in the background, it appears to be fall. They could have shot his scenes out of order. Important thing to note – he’s wearing a wedding band.

Dan – Thanks for the heads up that Dean is wearing a wedding band. I also liked the Dean character in season 1, but then the ugly green monster, known as jealousy, started to appear. Rory did do Dean wrong but they were teenagers and, at that age, even if you have a 180 IQ, you don’t always make the best decisions. I’m hoping Dean will be married, with kids, and owns some type of business that he is passionate about. I’m looking forward to the 4 episodes.

The film begins with a car accident suffered by video game editor — surely the nation’s biggest growing profession — Matthew (Ratthe) and his pregnant wife Jessica (Kimberly Laferriere) which results in her losing the baby and him losing an eye. Cut to months later, when the enterprising Matthew designs an artificial eye for himself that secretly contains a video camera so he can record everything he sees. Because really, who wouldn’t?

Not long after, the couple, joined by four others, heads to a luxurious cabin in the Quebec woods because, well, remote cabins are where so many horror films take place. And just in case the audience should become worried that Matthew’s eyeball camera won’t be able to show everything to their satisfaction, be assured that the guests are also toting video and cell phone cameras in abundance.
