Lauren Graham shooting Max this month
This is a misleading and unrelated picture.
Lauren Graham is shooting a dog – wait for it – movie this month. Max is the story of an army dog returning from Afghanistan, who returns to the U.S. to be adopted by his handler’s family after a traumatic experience. He bonds with the family, in particular a 14 year old boy and together they help each others’ healing process.
It doesn’t sound like the kind of movie where the dog talks.
Lauren plays the boy’s mother, a woman who has lost her eldest son to war but now has to heal her youngest. That big chunk of marble, Thomas Haden Church (Sideways) also stars.
Shooting should be underway right now and there’s a casting call for stand-ins required June 2-5 in Asheville, North Carolina. More casting info on Tona B. Dahlquist Casting’s Facebook page. Max is due out in 2015 and this paragraph makes me feel awfully glitzy darling.
We’ll also be seeing Lauren later this year in the upcoming Merry Friggin’ Christmas. The cast includes Joel McHale (Community) and Robin Williams (the Robin Williams), which gets our tail wagging and pricks up a cautious ear. I wonder if it’ll be anything like Lauren’s previously raucous ‘Christmas’ movie, Bad Santa?
Bearing in mind Lauren isn’t a mom in real life, do you think Lauren Graham is oddly typecast as a mom now? And is that a bad thing? Even in the animated Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, she was a mom. What would you like to see Lauren in (…aside from the Gilmore Girls movie, smartass)? Back on Broadway? Gravity 2? A rom-com where she has to choose between Zac Efron, Harrison Ford and Matthew McConaughey? Ooh and Eddie Murphy?
Pic c/o TheWB /TheCW. You say tomato…
A Lifetime Orginal Movie in which a teacher (Graham) falls in love with a student who is about to graduate early and join the army and be shipped out to boot camp. Then she finds out that the daughter she gave up for adoption 17 years before also goes to the school she teaches at and has fallen in love with the same boy.
I’d like to see that Friday night dinner.
I hate that Lauren is some what typecast as the ‘mom’, even in Bad Santa she ended up being the mom to the kid. I really would love her to do something different, I’m thinking Western or maybe a cop movie where she kicks some bad ass!
Agreed Craig, she’d be great in something like A Million Ways To Die In The West…
How about a way off-off-off broadway reenactment of the Producers with EB in the Zerro Mostel role, LG as Gene Wilder, Liza Weil as Dick Shawn, and AB as the crazy, ripped-off screen-writer.
On a more sombre tone, it’s a bit hard to be flippant about the currently described project since it’s probably a composite of current events. Still as a Gilmore fan, it would have been more noteworthy [and possibly even appropriate] if the pup’s name had been Digger [or even Cyrus] instead of Max.
EB? Emily Bishop? :O)
If that big screen two-movies adaptation of Stephen King’s It actually gets made, I could see Lauren Graham as the adult Beverly Marsh. Might sound crazy, but I think it could work.
That’s… incredibly random :O) First time I saw It, I had to sleep with the lights on for 48 hours.
EB=KB…Brain-freeze strikes again!!
