Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) attended the September 19th event for Save the Children in New York. The event called for millions more life-saving health workers in the poorest countries as the UN General Assembly begins at Military Island. The push comes after a new report showed that over 350 million children never see a doctor, nurse, midwife or community health worker in their lives.
Hundreds of people flocked to Times Square where they joined together to form a human mosaic portraying a Nigerian health care worker with a child.
