Following fast after her Emmy win, Melissa McCarthy (Sookie on Gilmore Girls) is now co-creating a new comedy series for CBS.
Melissa sold her pilot script to CBS, which she wrote with husband Ben Falcone. The comedy project would be co-written and co-executive produced by the couple.
The premise of the untitled series is “about a woman in her mid-40s who has a spectacular midlife crisis. The show is about what a midlife crisis means for a woman, which is very different from the way it affects men.”
Melissa also recently sold her first film to Paramount Pictures, a movie about a group of Midwestern women to set out to steal the Stanley Cup. Melissa would star in the film.

Looks like it’s all happening for Melissa, good on her!
Great to hear, she is so deserving of all the attention she’s been receiving lately! Just finished watching Bridesmaids for about the tenth time since Tues, and she is absolutely hilarious in it!! Now if she can just get a host gig on SNL!
