My experience, for example, is in watching ‘Raincoats and Recipes.’ I was away on a family vacation with my mom but we were determined to watch this season finale. We sat down with my cousins and I vividly recall the experience of us all yelling at the tv when Rory made her decision to be the ‘other woman’ in Dean’s life.
The contest will close on March 15th at 2pm PST. The winner will be drawn randomly and will be emailed to ask for his/her address and will be announced here on the site.

What is your most memorable Gilmore Girls watching experience?
one: I still remember the first scene I watched of Gilmore Girls. Its when Jess comes back and finally tells Rory that he loves her! :) Plus my favorite Gilmore experience its going to the set!
My Gilmore memories are never ending I literally grew up with it as I’m sure many other’s have, I own all the seasons and watch them in constant rotation. I also always watch Rory’s Birthday Parties on my birthday. But my favorite gilmore-ism is that I now try to watch all the movies the girls have..I’ve found some of my favorites thanks to them…The Way We Were, Grey Gardens..all thanks to the Gilmores!
I don’t know if I can add to my entry but I just remembered my best Gilmore link/memory..how could I forget..last year I searched high and low for a winter coat (pea coat) but I searched forever because I didnt want grey, black or brown (boring) finally I found a gorgeous teal-ish pea coat. A few days later I was watching Gilmore Girls and Lorelai had the same coat on! I almost died!
..sorry for my crazy comments.
My most memorable experience was last spring. You see, two of my favorite shows are Supernatural and The Good Wife. I had always watched Gilmore Girls, but hadn’t seen all the episodes and just watched it when I caught it on t.v. Then the episode “The Party’s Over” came on. I was sitting on the couch and the scene came on where Dean breaks up with Rory and then Logan came out of Emily’s mansion. :) *AHH – HA MOMENT* Both Matt Czuchry and Jared Padalecki were on Gilmore Girls. And I later found out I just happened to watch one of the few episodes that Jared was still on when Matt started! Crazyness. So I bought the entire season and have watched it straight through. Fell inlove with the series. Watch reruns all the time now. :)
I remember the first episode of Gilmore girls I ever watched. It was The Breakup, Part 2. I was over at my friends house, and I was so confused by the storyline at that point. But, at the same time, I was completely mesmerized by the storyline. When Lorelai came home and found Rory crying on the couch, I burst into tears. I still had no idea what had gone on beforehand, but something about it just moved me beyond belief. I was 9 years old at that time, and I am going to be 17 this summer. I still watch it every single day, and it has never failed to make me happy in some way. <3
Has to be what brought me to the show to begin with. My senior year of college, I roomed with three other girls, one of whom I had absolutely nothing in common with. She loved her sci fi shows…..I’ve been into romantic comedies. I specifically remember Xena being on a lot. But anyway, I walked in one day when she had GG on and sat down and watched with her. What an amazing show! I couldn’t believe she was watching it……..and I’ve been a huge fan (I often put on my dvds of it whenever there’s nothing else on!) ever since.
My best Gilmore Girls memory was when I bought the first season and finally got to see the Pilot of my favorite show! I sat down for days until I finished watching it. Then I acquired all seven seasons I have been watching at least an episode per day for the last couple of years. Gilmore Girls is and will keep being my favorite TV show of all time. :)
There ware literally so many memories floating in my head of Gilmore Girls it is so hard to pick just one. Numerous occasions I would find myself screaming at the TV (Rory when she rejects Jess in Season 4, when Lorelai marries Chris, when Luke and Lorelai broke up etc) But there were also many times I was jumping up and down or crying of happiness (Luke and Lorelai’s first kiss, when Lorelai proposed, etc,). However, there is one memory that sticks out in my mind.
I was young when Gilmore Girls was actually airing, so I started it in 2005 when I got the first season on DVD. I was hooked from the first scene. For every season I would have to wait until it came out on DVD because I was behind. (Looking back I don’t know how I could stand do wait all winter for the DVDs). When I was finally able to get the final season, my family was in Florida, so I spent most of my vacation watching it. My family drives to Florida from Michigan so I bring a portable DVD player for the car ride. So when we were driving home, I was watching the last episode (Bon Voyage) and I remember being so sad and in disbelief. The whole episode I was crying like a baby. (I started crying right from when Emily said ‘Its an honor to be your grandmother Rory Gilmore– and I never stopped.) It was such an amazing show and I was so sad to see it go. When Luke and Lorelai kissed I remember just bursting out crying because I was so happy but so mad at the same time that they ended it they way the did. My family actually had to ask if I was okay because I was crying so hard, and I just responded that I was watching the last episode. They thought I was crazy. I will always remember it because to this day I cry watching the last episode because I felt so cheated of the years I devoted to this show. It is such an amazing show and the whole last 2 seasons were so different. My family makes fun of me for continuing to watch it on DVD, despite that I have seen it so many times, that I still believe there will be a GG movie, that I read this blog, and that I make tribute videos on youtube of it but I will never give up on Gilmore Girls. It is such a huge part of my life, of my childhood, that I could never forget it.
Long live gilmore!
My greatest Gilmore Girls memory is the first time I received a season box set as a gift. It was season 3. By this time I had already bought season 1-2 on my own and watched every episode multiple times. After the season finale of season 2 I was determined to see what happened between the Rory and Jess saga and Christopher and Lorelie storyline. I sat there on a summer’s evening and began watching season 3. I spent my entire summer watching every episode every free moment that I got. This became the season for me that showed the growth among characters. It was also the season in which a lot of the foreshadowed storylines began to play out very slowly. I have vivid memories of each episode throughout season 3. From falling in love with a song “|Then She Appeared” by XTC from the episode “Let the Games Begin” in which Rory and Jess had their first kiss to when Luke pushed Jess into the lake in “Swan Song”. Each episode carried an aspect of it in which drew me closer. It made me feel like I was a part of each storyline which is something exceptionally weird to experience from a television show. Therefore altogether watching season 3 throughout my summer nights is a great memory.
One of my favourite moments was watching “Ballrooms and Biscotti” right after coming home from a trip abroad. I ate ice cream and other treats, and was totally relating to Lorelai and Rory coming back from their Europe trip; it’s nice to be home, but everyday life hasn’t gotten routine yet. You have all these new memories and thoughts from your trip.
I think it’s one of my favourite episodes.
One of my favorite memories actually happened over the summer. My friend and I were feeling nostalgic and decided to have a Gilmore Girls themed sleepover. We got a bunch of snacks (obviously), coffee from McDonald’s, and wore backwards baseball caps and plaid while we picked our favorite episodes to watch on the DVDs. It was such a blast.
Before I started watching Gilmore Girl’s, I watched One Tree Hill, and thought Chad Michael Murray was super hot! But late this one night I couldn’t sleep so I turned foxtel on and an episode of GG was on, so I decided to watch it, it was the episode called Rory’s Dance. I knew nothing about Chad’s character but when they where in line to buy the formal tickets and Tristan asks her to go with him and she said no, I was like WHAT?!? And when she got to the front of the line and Paris says Are you stupid? I was like, I think she is!! But I fell in love with the show after watching just that one episode so I bought them all on DVD. And re-watched all the episode then I realised she had her reasons for saying no. But is it weird to still wish that she had chosen Tristan over Dean?
I began watching Gilmore Girls because of Bad Santa!! I didn’t want to watch the movie, but my boyfriend insisted. I had never seen Lauren Graham in anything before and thought she was terrific! I then googled her and bought Season 1 immediately after I found out she was on Gilmore Girls. Fell in love from the pilot episode, and have been enjoying it ever since!!
Although there are many, my favorite experience is probably when my best friend and I both called in sick to work to watch the episode Written in the Stars! Needless to say, we’re both huge Luke/Lorelai fans!!!
I remember the episode Rory’s Dance, the final moments when Rory awakes in the studio at miss Patty, and she is very frightened so what only matters to her is to arrived at her house fast. And when she hear the fight between her mother and grandma gives me a moment of sadness because is was and is some things I did in high school, listening fights about the mistakes of my mother and what it might happen to me if they let me do the same things.
And when Rory goes into the kitchen that moment I was thinking that maybe Lorelai will hug her, but not, she started yelling her and I was in the same panicked state of Rory because it hurts to be in an argument when you are panicked and maybe the things are not bad as they think.
I was in the same grade at high school and recently sixteen years old. I grow up with her, like my twin sister or something.
I watch the Gilmore Girls all the time. I love it when Jess comes back and makes Rory thinks about why she quit Yale and moved in to her grandparents house and not talking to her mom. And i also love it when Lorelai and Rory makes up at the end of The Prodigal daughter. There are so much memories i love them all.
Hi from Canada!
My most memorable memory while watching Gilmore Girls is that I watched the complete series, twice, while on maternity leave for my 2 boys. Some days I had the opportunity to watch 3 even 4 episodes, other days, none. I most remember watching the episode where Rory “returns” to her mom and the feeling I had while watching the powerful hug between Lorelai and Rory.
Thanks for letting me share my story with you!!

Well it goes without saying that I love Gilmore Girls. I have the boxset and I’m always rewatching seasons when I’m bored! I’m a huge Jess fan and I really think that Rory should have ended up with Jess because he really matures later on and goes himself together. I think the saddest episode for me is probably Last Week Fights, This Week Tights when Jess comes back and asks Rory to go with him and she refuses. I always cry when she says ‘no!’ because you can see how hurt he is :(
Another really sad moment for me is when Lorelai and Emily have that argument over Lorelai not telling her about her engagement to Max, I always start bawling when I watch that scene. I can totally relate to their relationship because it’s one similar to what me and my mum have, the fights and the personality clash etc. There are so many characters and storylines in GG that are similar to my life and it’s why I love it. It really makes me want to live in Stars Hollow and have their lives!
My best Gilmore Girls experience? It has to be the fact that for the last three years, I have been traveling to various cities. (this year’s choice was Raleigh, North Carolina), to hook up with 18 or so gal friends as we have an entire weekend filled will Gilmore. We watch epidodes, we play GG inspired games and eat copious amounts of junk food. Lorelai Gilmore would be proud. There is nothing more fun then to see an episode pop up on a big screen and 18 voices join in with Carol King as she sings Where You Lead I Will Follow, or to oogle a delicious looking Luke Danes, or giggle at Kirk’s attics or fall in love with the relationship between Lorelai and Rory all over again.
This year we watched Lorelai dressing Luke, in Ps.. I lo. We watched as her relationship with him fell apart in Driving Miss Gilmore and we watched as Lorelai let Luke know she would always love him, in Lorelai? Lorelai? Amazing after so many years we still had so much to discuss after each episode.
I guess that’s why we love the so much
My best gilmore girls experience was when I introduced the show to my best friend and we watched Rory’s 16th birthday party episode because it is my favorite episode. We both laughed at the part when miss patty tries hitting on rory’s grandfather Richard. Miss Patty has become our favorite character on the show. It was a real bonding experience for us and she insisted on watching more episodes so we watched the rest of season one on dvd the rest of the day and all night. That was when I got her hooked on the show and now we watch all of the dvd’s together.
My most memorable Gilmore Girls watching experience was watching episodes after meeting Edward Herrmann (Richard Gilmore) last autumn! Watching Gilmore Girls since then has been a new experience now that I can relive meeting Ed!
I’d never paid attention to Gilmore girls. In fact, I’d breezed past it multiple times without lingering to watch. Then one day I looked up just in time to see this dude wearing a backwards baseball cap and making flannel look hotter than I ever thought flannel could look.
One glance at Luke Danes, and I was hooked. Cuz after all, once Luke Danes is in your life, he is IN YOUR LIFE.
:)
GG brought me closer to my sisters, I remember watching the final episode we sat there and cried together because we knew there won’t be new episodes!!
There are so many but it would have to be sitting on the couch in the hot Australian summer with my Mum watching the 1st episode of the 1st series on my birthday(it was the first time I had sat down and watched them) when we were supposed to be getting ready for my birthday party…let’s just say we were running very late and the entertainment for the night was Gilmore Girls.
when lorelai throws the coffee on Lane’s wedding dress. favorite!
I started watching Gilmore Girls late. I watched the last season on TV, but started watching it about two years before that. My best friend in high school and I would watch at least 3 episodes practically every weekend. We would end up going to bed early, early in the morning and her father did not like the fact that we did so, but it was worth it. I remember when we finished the end of season 4. It was again, late at night, but we HAD to get the fifth season. Best Buy was closing in 5 minutes, so we drove so fast and got there and paid the full price for the whole season (something I normally would never do) and we continued to cry and laugh into the fifth and best season.
I also remember watching the last episode my Freshman year of college. My best friends from that year came over to my dorm room and watched it with me even though they had only seen a few episodes. When it was done, I was crying so hard because it was the end of the best TV show, yet the beginning of a new life for Rory and a happily ever after for Lorelai and Luke.
I remember the first time I watched theepisode where rory goes off to college. Not only digit inspire me to set great academic goals I laughed hysterically at Lorelai driving luke’s truck backwardsall the way to the diner. I had to watch it over and over again. I still laugh everytime I watch it.
Oi with the poodles already! What are we to do with them?
My most memorable experience would probably be the first time I saw “Bon Voyage.” I gave up on the series somewhere around “A Vineyard Valentine” for many reasons. So I didn’t see the final episode until much later. Though I had read up on the rest of the series I hadn’t this episode because I wanted to see it for myself. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for Luke and Lorelai to work things out. I knew they just had to. There final kiss to me was perfect. I remember going up to my mom (who is not a fan of the show), and raving about how perfectly the “I just like to see you happy” line summed up their whole relationship, and how proving his love for Rory made Lorelai realize they should be together. That made me go back and watch the whole series from start to finish. Including season 7, which I’m not too upset I missed out on the first time around. lol
My most memorable experience is kind of a sad but special one. It was after being broken up with by my first boyfriend, who I had been with for about a year, and he did it on the day of the season 4 finale. I remember being upset but wanting sooo bad to watch it. And I was laying with my head in my mom’s lap and just thinking how lucky I was to have such a loving and caring mom, and how she truly was my best friend and there for me no matter what however I needed her to be. She was then and forever will be my real life Lorelai.
A couple of years ago my friend and I decided to have a Gilmore Girls marathon but we thought we’d make it a 24 episodes in 24 hrs marathon, which is pretty easy considering each episode only goes for 40minutes on DVD. We created an event on facebook and added episodes to our list and brainstormed food ideas, because we were going to eat like Lorelai and Rory too. So we watched gilmore girls all day and night eating mac and cheese, pizza, dessert sushi, dessert kebabs, soda, and lot of other junk food. We’ve had some other gilmore girls marathons and eaten the same sort of food, and we’ve now developed a tolerance to the sugar, a bit like Lorelai and Rory, but the 24 episodes in 24hrs was by far the most memorable.
My Memorys of Gilmore Girls was watching the 1st two episodes of Season 1 with my Little Sister a few days before she was Due to Return to Uni.
My most memorable moment watching Gilmore Girls is watching the very first episode with my mum on a sunday afternoon and just enjoying the time with my mum and how it started a little tradition for us from then on we never missed an episode!
There are many moments in GG that are memorable for me – emotional, funny or just very true.
But the most memorable experience for me is that is helps me to sort out some of important questions in my life, being some sort of catalyzer. And that is something you would not expect from an ordinary TV show. GG are piece of art.
I have been a huge GG fan since the series first aired. I have the entire set on DVD and the comfort and familiarity of the show and dialogue was the only thing that helped me fall asleep during a bad period in my life when I had a lot of anxiety. I have played them over and over so much that some of the DVDs have started to wear and the picture breaks up in areas. I still watch GG every day as I fall asleep. My all-time favourite episode is Kiss and Tell from season 1. Rory and Dean forever!!!
I live in a GMT+8 region and got up very early to watch Lauren live on the #102 of Kevin Pollak’s chat show. When it came to her ‘fear’ for the Internet, Lauren stated fondly, ‘…I can be very involved – like I literally went on YouTube one day, looking at cool Broadway clips, and I woke up and it was like two weeks later. Like I cannot be allowed to, you know, I just get kind of into these things that, then, I’m not, like, part of society or whatever…”
That my best Gilmore watching experience is this: that I started watching the series during winter break, from the pilot and woke up two weeks later – when I finished the finale. Who says it better than Lorelai herself?
You want to know the last time I watched something day and night for two weeks, nonstop? Never! That’s it!
i grew up with gilmore girls. i watched the show with my mom daily. it is something we both enjoyed after a day of work or school. we often ate maccaroni with cheese and drank coffee while watching the show. now, being here in the states for my exchange year, i often think of those moments and sometimes watch the gilmore girls when its on. my poor hostbrother has to watch the recorded episodes with me over and over again, and already gets annoyed by that ^^
nevertheless the show will always be a highlight for me. especially, since my mother and i have always been and will always be really close and practically best friends, just as lorelai and rory.
the show also influenced me in a good way. admiring rory and her success, i got better at school and have a more defined goal in my life i want to work for. i also got better at small talk. sometimes i even catch myself making a comment that could be one of lorelai’s… it is simply true what people say: gilmore girls is not only a show, its a lifestyle ;-)
I been a Gilmore Girl Fan since the season 2 and havent stoped watching it got all the season on dvd and if they get scrtach the dvds i get new. That my Gilmore watching experience is a few rory and jess esp since i can have a few esp like that in common but most of all that most of the season and esp i can really enjoy and say that sometihng i have in common it a show that most people can watch and saw it a show that has topic that everyone had happen to one in a while.it really should of had a season 8
I started watching the show in autumn 2002; I think it was the first year for GG in Germany. It was on in the afternoon and I should have been working on my Master’s thesis at the time – but could not help but leave my desk in order to watch my show. I took the time every afternoon and fell in love with it quickly, started buying the DVD cases and watched the show online (because I could not wait for the German Air date).
I started reading some books that were mentioned in the show, as I am a passionate reader I am always interested in new books. And as it seems, Rory and I have a similar taste in books. The “recommended” books really broadened my horizon and formed my taste. And the loveable Gilmore girls have been part of my life ever since.
And what can I say: my toolbox is called Bert :-)
My favorite Gilmore Girls watching experience was the first time I watched The Incredible Shrinking Lorelais. During the episodes that preceded this, the girls had been achieving their life goals steadily, taking challenges in stride. I owed this to the fact that they had such strong personalities and an acute understanding of their personal abilities. In this episode, Lorelai and Rory both realized they had bit off more than they could chew, and, cheesy as it may sound, it taught me a lesson about taking on responsibility, learning when to ask for help (modeled after Lorelai’s money troubles) and learning when the fight isn’t worth it anymore (from Rory dropping a class).
Oh man, how do I choose? I have so many…gilmore girls is my comfort show, the show that i can watch anytime of any day even if I’ve seen the episode a thousand times, its the one I turn to when my love life is broken or my sister is mad at me or I miss my family or am feeling really stressed. If i had to pick I think my most memorable would be You Jump I Jump jack, I love that one and the first time i saw it i remember being curled up with my god daughter and dog laughing and then gasping as rory jumped off with logan….then the feeling of how fun that would be, just a witty fun one.
It’s so much fun reading these comments. I came to Gilmore Girls in a very round-about way– I’d heard of it but hadn’t seen it until I happened to turn on the TV during the season 7 finale. It was towards the end too, around when Lorelai and Rory arrive at the party. Just those few minutes were enough to hook me. I started watching from the beginning on DVD that summer, and it was actually kind of nice having a sense of where the characters were headed (and especially knowing that Luke and Lorelai would eventually end up together) as I worked my way through the whole series over the next few months.
My most memorable experience is not really a watching experience. In 2005 I was in Germany on business driving to the hotel at night without clear directions or a good map. I’m driving along and I see a huge GG billboard with Lorelai and Rory. I couldn’t figure out where I was going so I ended up backtracking and passing the same billboard 3 or 4 times until I found a road that took me in the right direction. It was so surreal. It was also then that I knew that Gilmore Girls truly had an international audience.
My most memorial experience watching the Gilmore Girls was when I was first introduced to the show by my then teenage daughter. Katie, a loyal Gilmore Girls fan from day one, had just purchased the DVD’s and was anxious to duplicate the “bonding” experience shared by my husband and son while they watched the West Wing together on DVD. I somewhat unenusastically agreed to watch the show with her thinking she was growing up and would soon be on her own so I needed to treasure these times together. We gathered I Kniffy Knitter and some yarn and decided to also knit a hat while we watched the show.
After watching the pilot episode, I was hooked. I ended up watching the DVD’s and picked up the first runs in the fifth season. I also introduced my husband, younger son and co-workers to the show. Katie and I threw a quite an extensive “Good Bye Gilmore Girls” party for the series finally.
When Katie moved to her own place a few years ago and packed her Gilmore Girls DVD’s, she made this jokingly made this comment, “Mom, I know you’re going to miss me, but I think you’ll miss the DVD’s even more.”

My Gilmore Girls memories would be the chase to complete the 7 seasons on DVD. I remembered getting the S1 DVD at Walmart. Instantly,I got hooked and ran the next day to get S2. Unfortunately,it went out of stock so I called every video store I could think of. I would ask for updates, referrals to where I can get it. While waiting to complete the seasons,I’d watch the DVDs I had over and over.Until finally I get to collect 7 of them. It was a good, thrilling chase. And it’s so worth it.
One of my favorite scenes though was the Gilmore Smackdown. It’s the It’s Okay to Fight on a Friday Night episode. I’d watch it with my siblings and we’d get to identify with the characters and situation as it’s similar with our family affairs. It’s a always a treat to watch Gilmore Girls with family.
Hi ! I’m from the Philippines.
Gilmore Girls…. well, like most of the other U.S. TV series that I watch (except Glee), I have always been 3 or more seasons late. When I was in high school, I heard about Gilmore Girls from my classmates and I was able to catch some episodes airing in Philippine TV, but off course I didn’t understand the whole story, but I was already interested in the show. Back then, I yearned for the day for me to be able to buy all the seasons so that I could watch it chronologically.
I was able to watch the first season back in March 2010. I was already a college sophomore. When I researched about the show, I was like “Wow, I’m watching a show that started 10 years ago. I am really late but I am glad I am watching it now.” I also was and still happy that Time Magazine considered it as one of the Best shows of all time. It truly deserves the recognition for the show is not just inspiring but phenomenal
( the kind of mother-daughter relationship portrayed on tv, the fast-paced dialogue full of references among others)
SO WHAT’S MY BEST GILMORE GIRLS WATCHING EXPERIENCE?
Well, I don’t really have an exceptional anecdote like most of you have. I guess my best story would be when I had a Gilmore Girls Seasons 2 – 7 marathon during my junior year sembreak last year. I saw the 6 seasons for three weeks –last 2 weeks of October to first week of November. It’s an amazing experience. I wanted to be a Gilmore. I still do. lol. I felt like I wanted to visit Stars Hollow; maybe have a vacation there. I hoped that it existed. I actually can compare myself to Rory and Lorelai. I’m stubborn, I like to tell stories and I talk fast. Actually when I saw season 1 last March 2010, I did not notice that they talk fast, only after I researched about it online and read show descriptions that the characters talk fast. I felt that their talking pace was natural, well because I also talk fast.
I also watched a lot of video interviews and read a lot of articles about everything GG related. I also want to get to know other fans like you just like how I am friends with other Ugly Betty fans (I love that show too!)
I was alone though when I did my GG marathon (but it’s ok coz I like watching movies and shows alone anyway) though I always talk about it with my cousin. I am convincing her to watch and she said yes but she’ll watch it during the summer because she’s still busy with school. I actually see Rory in her.
It was an enlightening experience to watch the show. Gilmore Girls is inspiring. It makes you want to be who you are and follow your dreams. It teaches you values. Like literature, GG makes you question things about life. It makes you think. It shows you other perspectives in life and in turn it is up to us to make choices that are right for us if ever we face those kinds of situations. This is just to say that GG was well thought of, well-written, well-acted and just … well made, for most seasons. Which brings me to a next comment, it is a shame that the Emmy’s did not recognize this show (only in best makeup in the living art ep. that’s great. I don’t mean to sound sarcastic. I really think GG deserve that makeup award for that ep. but come on, just that? the show’s extraordinary)
I also realized how important it is to have good television and movie industry. We all know that most young people don’t want to listen to their parents or any elderly people. I don’t. I mean, I know what they’re saying is good and they want the best for me, but just because it came from them, the “authorities” in my life, I simply do not want to consider their opinions. Maybe there is a name to this like, the authority syndrome or something. lol.
But, this is where media comes. Most young people nowadays are bombarded with media. I for one turn to movies, tv, internet and music when I’m sad and when I’m happy. But kids, teens and even adults easily succumb to what they see, to what is offered to them. And if they see bad shows and movies, it would have a bad effect in their lives and therefore to society. What I’m saying is that I think that shows and movies are teachers. And like how schools are always looking for the best teachers, the tv, movie and music industry should always try to give us the good in the best that they can. Society depends on media now, a lot.
I still have a lot to share about Gilmore Girls and about the other shows and movies that I love which is why I’m planning to make a blog soon. But more or less, what I said above is what I feel about the show. It’s really nice to know that millions (or billions) around the world also love this show. I am not alone :)
I just want to quote what another fan named Kat said here:
“it is simply true what people say: gilmore girls is not only a show, its a lifestyle ;-)”
I think this perfectly sums up what we think, what we feel about the show, the things that we did just to see the show or learn more about the show and all the other funny, endearing and important personal experiences that we all have.
Long Live Gilmore Girls and we need to see that movie!
The odd thing about Gilmore Girls in my life is that it was actually a major part of bringing me and my dad together. My mom had a stroke when I was young and after that I moved in with my dad and went on living with him full time (though I’d been raised by my mom).
One evening, after watching an episode of Gilmore Girls (I can’t remember which, but I’m pretty sure it was during the sixth season), my dad and I had a lengthy conversation about which of Rory’s boyfriends was best for her. In the end, my dad settled on Dean and I, being very indecisive, left my vote between Jess and Logan.
Since then, my dad and I continue to bring Gilmore Girls into our daily lives. Just the other day I was talking to him about how my university was hosting our own Dance Marathon (of a different nature to the one in Gilmore Girls, but a dance marathon nonetheless). His immediate response was “Make sure Jess isn’t there,” to which I responded by laughing hysterically.
It’s these little things that make Gilmore Girls such a huge part of my life, and my relationship with my dad.
@GilmoreBook my fondest memory of Gilmore girls is with episode 47, season 3. That day I went into town to go shopping and when I got home I realized I was locked out of my house. Waiting for my mom to come home from work in two hours didn’t sound appealing considering the rain and thunder booming over my head, but I had nowhere else to go. It was 5 o’clock and I didn’t want to miss the show so I sat in my car with my iPod app that allows us to watch shows on our DVR and watched it while it recorded inside :p the Internet connection was choppy but I watched the whole thing and before I knew it my mom was home!! Thanks Gilmore Girls for saving me from boredom.
It’s not one specific memory but it was the realization that the guy I was dating (and now married to!) watched Gilmore Girls also but didn’t want to tell me! I was already a pretty avid fan (I think that was before I got the DVDs and proceeded to watch all 7 seasons about 10 times) but I noticed he seemed to know the show. Before I knew it we were snuggled together watching it all the time!
The thing about gilmore girls is that the show never just been just a show for me. I really dont can decribe how much I love everything about it. I mean all the acters are brilliant and the storyline is really amazing. Evertyhing are just amazing and a show never gonna be this good again.
Anyway I have a few friends that watch the show sometimes but they aren’t geeky like me about this show and I always wanted a friend as gonna love the show in the same way like me, becuse if you really love gilmore girls then you can see how funny and beatiful it is.
The thing is that I find some that really start to love this show in the same way like me (some as always had ben there) – my mother! I am really close to my mother like lorelai and Rory (my mother wasnt pregnant with me about a few years later than lorelai but still close).
My memory is then that i find my gilmore girls soulmate even if that was my mother and we have always so fun when we watch the best show ever have made. We just smile in the couch and eat good fod and just smile becuse we have our gilmore girls.
