Alexis Bledel headed up from Fashion Week to Toronto for the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her latest film, The Conspirator. Here she is today at the film festival press conference, which took place before the premiere:
The Conspirator is an historical drama about the trial of Mary Surratt, the only female co-conspirator in the Abraham Lincoln assassination and the first woman to be hanged by the United States federal government. Alexis stars as Sarah Weston, wife to Frederick Aiken (McAvoy), a war hero who defends Surratt and believes her to be innocent and believes she is being used as bait and hostage in order to capture the only conspirator to have escaped a massive manhunt, her own son.
