The Zap2it staff rounded up a series of actors they think should have their own shows. On that list is Gilmore Girls gal Arielle Kebbel (Lindsay Lister then Forester on Gilmore Girls), who may have been “boring” and “meek” on Gilmore Girls, but has heated up screens since then.
I’ll admit it… I hated Arielle Kebbel on “Gilmore Girls.” She was so boring, and as Dean’s oh-so-needy eighteen-year-old wife, she just got in the way of… well, everything.
Dean and Rory 4-EVA!Ahem. Since spectacularly dumping Dean while all of Stars Hollow watched from Luke’s Diner, Kebbel has gone from meek and mousy to totally magnetic.She’s recently been making the vampire rounds, with a memorable role on “The Vampire Diaries” and as a con-artist vixen on “True Blood.” This fall, she’ll play a bartender on my new favorite show, “Life Unexpected,” and I’m thrilled to see her again, but this girl deserves to lead a show, not pop in to stir things up before leaving or getting killed off. She was awesome in “The Uninvited,” and that underrated role should’ve led to more high-profile gigs.
She’s on LUX, interesting, I like the show.
Also what’s all the vampire roles, typecasting?
While her role on GG was one of the most disapppointing cliches ever written, she simply did what she was asked to do and it is tough to hate her for that. In other roles back in that time frame she was very good in a short supporting role in the series “Grounded For Life” as well as in movies like “Aquamarine” and the co-lead in the American Pie spinoff “Band Camp”. Certainly since then she has popped up to do the additional solid work you mention but not sure that necessarily equates to “deserving” a lead in a full-times series. Seems like the same things could be said about dozens of other underutilized actresses. However, will enjoy seeing her bit in Life Unexpected this fall as it has to be far better than her GG turn.

She’s simply adorable, in this pic absolutely. And yes, she has great talent. Hope to see her in her show.
