Emily Bergl (Francie Jarvis on Gilmore Girls) has been cast for a recurring role in Desperate Housewives! Emily will be playing the role of Beth, a ‘fragile soul who married Paul while he was behind bars.’ She comes to Wisteria Lane with a big secret.
Though Ausiello only has an “insider” scoop, Emily herself revealed to me:

Francie Jarvis wasn’t a ood character that we like to remember. I really prefer the character: Annie O’Donnell in Men in Tree 36 episodes. In the show Emily Bergl beauty and talent are really exploited. A very good actress, full of promise….
was anyone else reminded of the Puffs when the DH were all talking about Emily Bergl’s character Beth in episode 12, and Renee said “you guys are like the mean pretty girls who won’t let anyone sit at your lunch table” – in reference to not welcoming Beth at their get-together! i thought they must have done that on purpose… but couldn’t find anything about it on teh internets, so maybe not! sad. one of my favourite things about the show “Castle” is how they keep finding was to reference Nathan Fillion’s previous role in Firefly in amusing ways. Maybe my expectations of DH are a bit too high…!? :)
