“Wyoming Project” Dead

Sad news! Though Scott Patterson‘s (Luke Danes on Gilmore Girls) new pilot series for NBC, The Event, and Melissa McCarthy‘s (Sookie on Gilmore Girls) has new CBS comedy pilot, Mike and Molly, were both picked up for the Fall season, The Wyoming Project, the upcoming pilot from Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino (creators of Gilmore Girls), has not!

The CW has not chosen to pick up the Palladino series. Instead, the network has chosen to pick up two other new shows for the Fall slate: Nikita and Hellcats.

Big pout. :(

Aww that’s a shame. I was looking forward to it. Well Amy said in Season 1 that after Gilmore girls, “everything is going to go downhill from here.”

I was more surprised the CW would work with the Palladinos after the debacle. They produced the pilot. But we don’t know how good it was, or if the CW was just jerking them around. Hopefully Amy can focus on her HBO project now.

Jeeze. I didn’t think I could lose any more respect for the execs at the CW. I’ve heard the description for Hellcats. Very original! Not at all like those critically acclaimed Bring It On movies.

Wow, Didn’t expect that. Amy did say it was downhill after GG. I hope the set backs leads her to do a movie.

Amy’s first season of Roseanne is in rotation on TV Land for anyone who’s interested …. It’s fascinating to watch the Mark-Becky episodes, and how Roseanne reacts to Mark. The dialogue between Roseanne and Mark clearly presages the Lorelai-Jess fights.

And the athlete that Becky starts to date when she breaks up with Mark – DEAN!

The “Dean” episode of Roseanne is on TV Land tonight, with Amy as story editor. It’s hard to believe that she didn’t have a hand in that speech Roseanne gives Mark when he shows up and Becky isn’t there, telling Mark how to show respect to her daughter, and then just like Jess, Mark does what Roseanne said.

Amy said it was a crazy environment, but you have to imagine that Roseanne was a stronger force than Lauren Graham (and the boss) so Amy had to yield to her. Roseanne’s instincts make that material really interesting.

Dan Palladino will be producing the Flinstones reboot for Seth McFarlane for fall 2013.
