Netflix recently ran a survey for the “Moms’ Choice Awards” going over several questions, from your favorite movie mom to your favorite actress. Under the category of “favorite TV mother/daughter duo“, Lorelai & Rory Gilmore had a landslide win!
Rory & Lorelai had 59% of te vote, up against other duos from Roseanne, The Simpsons, The Cosby Show, and The Brady Bunch.
Congrats to Lorelai and Rory. I love watching them. Congrats to Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel.
Well, of course they won! They’re the BEST mother/daughter duo that has ever been on TV. They have the relationship that every daughter wants to have with her mother & vice versa. I’m lucky to have a relationship like that with my mother. Go Lorelai & Rory! Best characters on the best show EVER!

just started up with season 1 again – they never get old.
Of course they won and deservedly so. However, there is little legitimate competition as most show writers have so little clue how to write multigenerational dramedy; i.e. either the kids are used as mere foils for the parents to argue about or the parents are drawn as caricatures to be laughed at or pitied. It seems no conincidence that strong writing for women on Rosanne where ASP made her initial mark is also high on this list of positive mother/daughter dynamics—-
