"Samantha Who?" Changes Planned

Last month, ABC put Samantha Who? (which stars Melissa McCarthy) on hiatus for the remainder of its Season 2 episodes, with a possibility that the show may not return for a Season 3. However, now it looks like the network is trying to rethink the series in order to save it.

ABC may be turning the show into a more traditional multi-camera comedy, allowing ABC to shave as much as $500,000 off the production budget for the series. Samantha Who? did well for the network when it was on Monday nights, but saw a huge decrease in audience when it moved to Thursday during the midseason.

There are still 7 episodes of Samantha Who? for Season 2, but the network may decide to make those a part of Season 3. So far it’s unclear.

That’s good news, this show was very enjoyable, if they can re-work it, I’m sure it will find it’s audience again

  2. Mac says:

It’s not great but still enjoyable.
MMC doesn’t get enough screen time though… when you know how great she can be.
