In ‘You’ve Been Gilmored‘, a series of events lands Rory on Logan’s doorstep, so to speak. And I’ve always thought this a little odd – she just took him back, after all!
The board has voted Paris off as Editor of the Yale Daily News, and Rory is the one to break it to her. Why Paris was made Editor and not Rory, I’ll never know, but it did provide for some humorous Paris madness (the bunker!). Anyway, the staff decide that Rory would be their perfect new editor, so she took over right away. Of course, Paris now thinks Rory was lobbying for this all along and has piled all her stuff out in the hall.

There are no places left to live on campus, or off, so Logan casually invites Rory to live with him (ok, there was a tiny bit of hesitation, but not much given Logan’s history). Logan tries to treat it lightly, though Rory says it’s a big step. Rory agrees to go – not calling her mom at any point. Given their reconciliation, I would have expected Rory to freak out and call Lorelai right away. Chris finds out before Lorelai does, like Rory is ashamed of her decision to live with Logan.
When Rory and Lorelai finally talk about it, Rory wants to know Lorelai’s thoughts. Lorelai reminds Rory to do it only for the right reason, not for a housing shortage. Rory says she loves Logan and then it moves onto Lorelai wanting tips for when Luke moves into her place.
Is it a big deal for Rory to move in with Logan? Why was he ok with it? Why does Rory hesitate before telling Lorelai?

When the new editor was chosen Rory was not in school; this was during her period living with her grandparents.
You would think with the competition and internal politics involved in being elected as editor that Paris would have messed this up magnificently. Guess Doyle as her guardian angel must have smoothed the transition. That Paris would get all hyper-micromanager was pretty predictable but hilarious to watch as was her demise.
Rory’s election to editor was always a little too convienient. There is no way a student who has sat out the previous semester for personal reasons would ever be allowed by her advisors to accept a extracurricular position with so much responsibility and pressure when she is now already behind her graduation program schedule. The fact that she could actually handle the position quite competently is beside the point.
Logan’s response is actually quite predictable, i.e. see a problem, fix a problem. Rory’s reaction more of hopeful resignation, i.e with no better option available take a big chance and hope for the best. Once the option seemed to work she then lets Lorelai know and thereby avoids the possible unwanted argument.
Rory’s decisions don’t make much sense to me throughout season 6. So her moving in with Logan was just another one of them.
I think she doesn’t tell Lorelai because she knows her mom is not big on her relationship with Logan. Plus, se probably knows, deep down her, that once again she picks the easy solution.
She never fixes things by herself and once again she proves it.
As far as Logan is concerned, I don’t think he reads that much into it. For him it’s probably something along the lines of roomate with benefits.
What I dislike the most in this episode is how, once again, C. is a jerk.
Rory asks him not to tell Lorelai about her moving in with Lorelai and he can’t help but rush to rat her out.
And Lorelai almost finds it normal. She’s so weak when it comes to him. She forgives him anything. Argh.
Rory behaved strangely all throughout season six. She was a weak person when she was around Logan. She moved in because he asked. She can’t refuse him.
Like after she found he cheated in her, she moved in with him again because he told her too but then “punished” him by going home to Lorelai, ignoring him etc until he got in the accident. I think if Rory hadn’t ever moved in with him (either time) and if he hadn’t gotten into the accident they would have broken up far sooner than they did. It is hard to break up with someone when you are 21 and living with them and they are so charismatic and then afterward the accident she felt guilty for ignoring him and took care of him, further drawing her in.
I also have always wondered why Emily and Richard never had an opinion about them living together. They were against it in season 5 but in season 6 there is no mention at all.
Paris kinda little mean and yelling to them at Yale Daily and want Rory will be new editor better than Paris.Rory is very nice and listen what they said about their report or get error at Yale Daily
Rory acting little immature when she dont want Chris come and want see her apt with her boyfriend Logan without Lorelai know.Maybe Rory afraid of Lorelai if she may dont like Logan.
Unlike most people, I really liked Rory in season six. Well, the second half of it. I agree that her dropping out of school was out of character, but it allowed her to grow up, value things for its real worth (like her incredible mother-daughter relationship and the wonderful educational opportunities) and lead her life separately from Lorelai. I don’t know, she just seemed more adult to me, with her job, the editor position and the extra studying load.
Besides, it’s kind of encouraging to see her pick up her life and put it back together. Like a message saying: well, you’ve messed up and that’s it. Now fix it. It made want to put my own life back together as well.
I have to say this… Logan is so boring!! Ok, they haven’t got as much on-creen time as dean or jess, but when he’s on, he’s just so dull. I liked him at first, and i can see why rory likes him, but after Jess’ return, the lack of chemistry between Logan and Rory is striking. Wasn’t sure for a while, but Jess and Rory are meant to be…
