It’s been 4 years since Rory and Lorelai have been in their garage. They need to clear out all their junk for Lane’s band to practice there. Rory finds her hug-a-world and hugs it – too bad it starts moving on its own. Something is living in it. Rory runs for the shower.

Taylor is renovating the building next to Luke’s that he’s leasing, but construction has spilled onto the sidewalk. Taylor would freak if anyone did that by Doose’s, and Luke is freaking now too. Of course, the only person Luke can complain to about Taylor is Taylor – he holds too many town offices.

Zack, of Lane’s band, is hitting on Lorelai. He invites her to come listen to them play at their first gig; Lorelai makes up an excuse to say no. Dave tells Lane to ‘play like a guy’ on the drums – goes all hard-ass on her. Lane tells Rory it was a set-up to throw the guys off seeing Lane and Dave as a couple.

Alex and Lorelai are out sampling lots of coffee. He has two kids, much younger than Rory. Alex tells Lorelai he loves camping and fishing – Lorelai says she does too. He invites Lorelai fishing on Saturday.

Lane got a ‘maybe’ to go to the prom from Mrs. Kim. She told her mom that she could pick the dress, approve the escort, etc. The plan is to get Dave as the escort – Mrs. Kim likes Dave. Lane wants to set it up so that Mrs. Kim feels like she picked Dave to be her escort. There is a wedding for one of Lane’s relatives – to a bride he’s never met. They are buying make-up for her, and Kirk apparently works at the beauty store now.

Lorelai is angry at herself for lying and trying to impress Alex, who she likes. She didn’t want to be impolite and say she hated the outdoors, but it backfired. Sookie did that once with Jackson, and now has a frog collection to prove it. Frog girl welcomes fish girl to the club.

Paris is late for the student council meeting. Then accuses Rory of "high crimes and misdemeanors" in her capacity on student council in order to "weaken the administration." Espionage, treason. As second-in-command and friend, Paris is dropping all blame on Rory. The teacher will not let Paris impeach Rory, and neither girl will resign.

Taylor’s lawyer brings the lease agreement to Luke. Luke apologizes to her for having to work with Taylor. Some banter between them. Jess tells Luke that the lawyer was coming on to him. Makes fun of Luke for never dating. Luke smiles at her coffee cup.

Rory brings books on fishing for Lorelai to learn. Page 1 and she’s lost. Luke asks what she’s doing and Lorelai goes on about fulfilling her destiny to fish. He suggests another way to learn how to fish – he fishes. He offers to help.

Rory and Paris are called to see the Headmaster. He is not impressed with their face-offs. Stand-offs in the cafeteria, issues at student council and apparently a yelling match at the Franklin. They continue yelling at each other in front of the Headmaster. He won’t let Rory quit the council. Calls Paris petty and childish, throwing away all her hard work. As heads of the student council, they represent the school – and now are not doing a good job at that. The Headmaster threatens to write to Harvard to correct his ‘errors in judgment’. They leave the office, but Paris is still not talking to Rory.

Lorelai has bought a sexy fishing outfit. Luke has set up a kiddy pool to teach Lorelai how to fish. She picks it up quickly. Luke wants to know why Lorelai is going fishing. She says because some ‘friends’ are going, but eventually mentions its for a guy. Seeing Luke’s face fall, she apologizes for not telling him. She thinks Luke doesn’t want to hear about her personal life. He just stares straight ahead, rocking on his feet. Asks which date number it is, and says Alex is ‘just her type’ for going to the coffee place. He offers to lend her some fishing things – very supportive.

Lorelai has used Rory as her alarm clock – set Rory’s alarm early and in turn Rory’s scream to wake Lorelai. Alex comes bearing coffee and donuts. Alex asks Rory if Lorelai has ever been fishing before. He prepared an afternoon at the spa for them too.

Dave plays music for the Kim wedding. Rory and Lane prep the bride and talk guys. Rory is happy Lane found a kindred in Dave. And forgives her for not liking Jess. Lane agrees to give him a second shot. This will be their last Kim wedding together until it’s Lane’s turn.

Luke waves at Taylor’s lawyer outside the diner. Looks outside again and makes a decision to go out and talk to her. It takes a while, but with a "what the hell" Luke asks her out to dinner. And is surprised when she says yes. Jess nods his approval of that.

Kim wedding. Lane and Rory are nostalgic about this being their last wedding. Right in front of Dave, Mrs. Kim introduces Lane to her Korean prom date. Lane runs after her mother and tells her ‘no’ to this prom date. Lane tells her mother that she likes Dave. And tells her that her mother’s approval was key in her starting to like Dave. Mrs. Kim will only say "he’s not Korean."

Lorelai accidentally caught a fish – so she brought it home and has it swimming in the bathtub. Lorelai had a good date – a third is expected. They say goodnight to Jane the fish.
