Moon pies. Lorelai says stopping for them is the best part of a roadtrip.

Rory is trying on some suits. Lorelai is haranguing her for not going to Mia’s wedding. What with Logan being a spaz and her newspaper interviews (many, not just the New York Times), she doesn’t feel like she has the time. Lorelai is trying to convince Rory not to look at papers far away, like in Seattle. Too far from her. Lorelai is still pushing to get Rory to go to the wedding.

Rory and Logan at the apartment. Logan is goofing around on his computer, killing time until Colin and Finn come over to ‘hang’ – i.e., Logan is basically not into working.

Mitchum Huntzburger arrives at the door. He’s pissed Logan has not called. Mitchum gets inflamed about Logan’s mess – the problem, the avoidance, and the lack of his solution. Tells him to go to the office immediately while other people sort out Logan’s problem for him. Rory admits she’s on Mitchum’s side.

"Logan, I love you. But I’m not going to support every stupid decision you make."

Rory says it’s not that he screwed up, but that he’s avoiding the problem. That he’s hiding instead of facing his responsibilities. Being a jerk. Rory ends up leaving the apartment all together.

Kirk is complaining about his order at the diner. That his pickle juice has soggified his grilled cheese. Luke just tells him to eat it. Heh.

Zack asks Luke over for dinner, the next day. Zack forgot to ask Luke over, even though Lane has been cooking for two days on the assumption he’s coming.

Emily is hovering over Lorelai’s shoulder trying to understand more business stuff. Emily is completely frustrated that Richard is still not doing anything. She even calls him a pain in the ass.

Richard walks in, wearing a velour suit. He’s looking for a putter to play golf in the back yard, and tries to leave without signing the tax form. Emily nags Richard on the way out and he calls her "mother" as in "Yes, mother"

Rory calls Lorelai to say she’ll go on the road trip. She needs to get away from Logan. She fesses that she agreed with Mitchum about Logan being immature and that she cannot do her work. Emily is overhearing the conversation and seems intrigued about the trip. Emily wants to go too. Rory is excited about it, but Lorelai really doesn’t sound thrilled. Emily thinks it’s great. She can get away from Richard and spend time with Rory.

Emily is driving the car, and people are honking and passing her on the highway because she’s going too slow. Lorelai is trying to get her to drive faster. Lorelai and Emily argue about Mia’s to-be-husband’s name. Then they fight over the window – up or down. Emily locks her out of being able to lower it herself. Child locks. Heh

Emily brings up Logan and whether he’s ok with her potentially move away to work at a paper. Rory says things are not so well with them.

Lane and Zack’s place, with Luke, after dinner. Lane looks so cute! Luke says thanks to Lane for dinner, especially switching tracks to a non-curry food group. They are super happy. Zack says how much Luke means to them. Like family. How both of them look up to Luke as father figure. Luke thinks they need money, but Zack asks if he’ll be godfather to the twins. Luke seems a bit hesitant, but agrees.

Emily is on the phone with the spa she intends to stay at, trying to set up more appointments. The Gilmore Girls are at "Winky’s", a highway diner. Emily complains about the smell of the restaurant. Emily orders a sandwich, but Lorelai and Rory decide to chance it with some seafood.

Emily offers to pay for some spa treatments for them, but they are there for the wedding. While Emily is in the bathroom, Rory suggests perhaps they are talking too much about Mia. Too many memories of the mother/grandmother role that Mia was for them as Emily was not in their lives. Rory wants more bonding, especially between Lorelai and Emily if Rory moves away.

Lorelai, Rory and Emily are at their hotel. Kinda lame hotel. Emily is freshening up before going to the spa. She has to look good before she gets there.

Mia calls to see that they arrived ok, and when Mia hears that Emily is there, she insists that Emily come to the wedding. Emily must therefore cancel her spa, and is quite annoyed at having to go. Rory is thrilled – more time for bonding.

Luke comes downstairs in the diner in the morning to open it up. Zack knocks at the door. He is there on the excuse to help Luke open, but he obviously has something on his mind. He starts talking about how peaceful Stars Hollow is. He’s trying to make small talk, but Luke is not very social in the morning. Luke excuses himself to go turn on the stove. Zack is cool with that… he just wants quiet. I guess Lane is even more chatty than he is?

The three Gilmore Girls arrive at the wedding. Emily is annoyed that there was no greeter to the wedding. First off they see a picture of little Rory there – of course, being surrogate mom, she would have pictures. Emily looks super annoyed.

Emily makes small talk with Mia. Mia introduces the "famous Lorelai and Rory Gilmore" to her to-be husband, Howard. Howard mentions how often they are mentioned. Lorelai says, I hope not the bad stuff. Mia says there was no bad stuff. Emily says she was lucky then – bitter, of course, that her relationship with Lorelai and Rory had more bitterness to it.

Lorelai later on performing a small childish poem for Mia in recognition of Rory’s little poems as a child and their good times. Meanwhile, all Emily wants is a hard drink. She can’t handle how close Lorelai is with Mia – all their inside jokes.

Logan arrives! Rory has to excuse herself to go talk to him. He needs to talk to her urgently. Rory had not answered his calls on purpose. She gets incredibly mad. Saying that the whole grand gesture of showing up won’t work on her anymore. She won’t even hear him out. Instead, she reams him for invading her own ‘blowing of steam’ trip. She basically tells Logan to piss off.

Luke & Zack at the diner, they seem like chums now. Zack made a mix CD for Luke of music he thought Luke would like. Making the CD gave him something to do instead of sitting up at night waiting for the babies to be born. Then he brings up circumcision and whether or not they should do it. Zack is so cute – being very nervous!

Zack wants to grab a beer with Luke after work to go over things. He’s in a panic. Luke takes him aside and tells him to calm down. Zack is afraid of being a father. Luke says he found his ‘dad mode’ when April showed up, and Zack will too.

Back at the wedding. Lorelai is making some small talk with some random guy in a bad sweater. Rory saves her from the conversation. Rory says Logan showed up. He’s outside still, leaning against the car. Rory says if they’re going to do this, it’ll be on her terms. Tough love. Emily is pouting on the couch.

Howard and Rory go for a dance while Lorelai goes to sit with Emily. Emily is going through her schedule, not a very wedding-esque music. She is simply waiting to excuse herself gracefully. Donna, a maid Lorelai used to work with, comes over.

Donna’s big mouth. She says it was so appropriate for Lorelai to be the one giving the speech. The only one. So appropriate because Mia was like a mother to her.

Lorelai is very upset. Mia comes over and checks in. Mia sympathizes with Emily. That Emily feels like she lost Lorelai and Rory – while Lorelai felt she left because Emily was ashamed of her. Two different views on one event. Mia says that 5 years ago, Emily came to visit Mia at the inn. During that time, she asked Mia for pictures of Lorelai and Rory from all the years they missed together. Hence her feeling left out of their lives.

Rory takes her cake outside to talk with Logan. With her back to him, she lets him apologize. She won’t even face him. Logan said he was in so much trouble that he could not face anything. Too much was invested in the project – not just money. And he thinks his dad is right – that if he were his dad, he would fire him too. Of course, he wasn’t – being a Huntzberger guaranteed him that.

Logan said that he went to Mitchum and told him he would no longer work for the Huntzberger Group. No more being a pawn. Mitchum, of course, didn’t take it well. Rory says she is proud of him. They appear to have made up.

Mia notices Emily at the window looking at Rory outside. They both talk about how remarkable Rory is. Emily brags about all her recent achievements. She says Rory will be fine. And Mia agrees, saying "you would know." Mia is thereby asserting the importance Emily now plays in Rory’s life. Emily says thanks to Mia before they all head out for the evening. All is forgiven.

Zack and Luke are at the diner still. Zack apologizes to Luke for leaning on him so much about being a father. Says he’s so nervous that he wanted Luke to pick up the slack. However, he feels much more calm now about the whole thing. He is confident dad mode will kick in when needed.

The phone at the diner rings. Zack picks it up. Lane’s water broke!! Zack is freaking out! Luke says the diner is closed, everyone out, he will take Zack home and them to the hospital. Tells the room that the last person out should lock. Sweet!

Emily drops Rory and Lorelai at the hotel before going back to the spa. Rory insists that Emily stay for their junk food binge. Lorelai tries to make small talk with Emily. Saying she bought Rory her first suit, which made her think of what it’ll be like when Rory is gone. Says it will be hard to be without Rory, when she leaves. Lorelai comes out and says she knows it was hard on Emily when she left. Her indirect apology. Then changes the subject to "The Pursuit of Happyness".

Rory runs in with a photo of the new babies! I cannot believe Rory didn’t rush back to be there when Lane gave birth! Anyway, it’s still very exciting.

The Gilmore Girls open their junk food and turn on the movie to watch it together. The lala’s play. All is good in the Gilmore world.

  1. Roschelle says:

AH! Great episode! My favorite part was the very end. Yep, “All was happy in the Gilmore world.”
    And Zach.. hahaha!
So there’s no new epi next week?

  2. Cher says:

Great episode tonight! One of the best this season.

  3. mollie says:

okay okay i know that we now have a break. but when will the preview be? uggh i can’t wait this was a great episode. i’m still puzzled why luke, zach and lane didn’t call rory to tell her that her BEST FRIEND was in labor. i bet rory would have loved to be there.

  4. Patricia says:

I had a glimmer of hope that Colin and Finn might make a quick appearance once again! Bummer

  5. Janey says:

Great intentions, great potential, but HORRIBLE execution in this episode!

It was choppy and disjointed and there was so much potential for humour that just didn’t get exploited. Lorelai’s dialogue was mush, and way too much time was spent on Mia, who isn’t even the original Mia! They tried to fit way too much into this episode.

    Poorly done.

  6. *sarah* says:

i think it was good tonight, but i really wish that they had used the original mia because without her, it just seems like a lame way to use up time….like they couldnt think of anything better to do.

does anyone know when new episodes r gonna be back on??
i heard veronica mars doesnt start again until may, and i just really hope i dont have to wait that long for luke and lorelai to get back together :D

  7. Pamela says:

I agree. My favorite scene was the last with Emily & Lorelei – seems like a light went on in Lorelei’s head after her conversation with Mia. Great episode and a thank you to Emily for her recognition of the Detroit Free Press being one of the best papers Rory could work for.

Also, Luke couldn’t have been nicer to Zac when the babies were on their way.

  8. Priscilla Montes says:

oh my god, I love that Logan showed up at the wedding. I did agree with Mitchium, but where is Logan to work now? And why was Luke acting so rare with Zack and Lane at the dinner. I felt sorry for Emily, feeling that she left out and Mia was the real mother/grandmother to Lorelai and Rory. WOW!!!! Lane had her twins!!!!!!!!!!! When is the next episode?

  9. Pamela says:

P.S. Didn’t Rory showed some “coconuts” with Logan, yea!

  10. erin says:

I agree with Sarah, if they really had to use the whole Mia’s getting married thing as an excuse for a road trip, then I think they should have had the original actress. And it was really random and kind of lame.

I was glad to see Rory not immediately cave in to Logan’s charm but to listen to him on her terms. I’m just bummed Logan did go back down the “old Logan” path. His screw ups and apologies are getting kind of old.

We have to wait until April 10, I think, before the next new episode! Ugh.

  11. Gina says:

I have to comment on the Luke acting “rare” with Lane and Zach.

Over the years we’ve watched Luke go from the strong, silent, diner guy, to becoming more and more involved with the town, and in his own gruff way showing that he cares for certain people.

We know he loves Rory as if she were his own, and certainly that would extend somewhat to Rory’s oldest friend as he got to watch them grow up together.

But he wouldn’t be the Luke we all know and love if he just jumped all over being a god father for Lane and Zach, he has to do it grudgingly, unsure if he can, unsure if he would be good at it, etc.

His reaction was exactly what I expected of him, we know he would make a great godfather, even a great father, but he’s only just learning that about himself.

(getting down off my psych box)

I loved this episode and the revelations that happened among the “girls”. Way to go Emily, I think Will Smith is hot too!

Yet as much as I loved this – am I the only one who is seeing these episodes as wrapping up open issues that have been a long standing part of the show?

  12. lolo says:

i loved this episode. great gilmore stuff it was a classic. i feel like this episode set the stage for stuff to come. i think loreli is finally starting to see that her mother does care for her and that she is really important in emilys life. hopefully this will help emily open up more to loreli.

also i loved the part when emily and mia are looking out the window and emily says … “if there is any heart breaking there it will be done by rory.”(about rory and logan).. do you think that is a peek into what is to come? i certainly hope so. logan needs to go. i really hope that at the end of the season rory is single and following her dreams just like she always planned.

  13. MK says:

    They did call her!!
She came back from the vending machines and said “Lane had her baby!”

  14. MK says:

it shud b april 17th right? b/c thats 7.18 where all the L/L stuff happens

    YAY…by the way

  15. MK says:

nvm its totally the 10th…the 17th is 7.19 but in 7.18 they apologize to each other think

  16. angie says:

Yeah she even sent a pic & Rory should have said babies.

  17. angie says:

whats up with Luke & money? First he told zach he couldn’t pay him anymore for coming in early & then he thought the whole dinner was a plot to ask him for money. Maybe its nothing but it felt strange when he said it.

  18. angie says:

I agree with your last comment. I do think that they are moving us toward a gilmore girl finale. All that business about rory moving away and emily & lorelai’s finding a common ground. Even zach and Lanes’s twins. We all know that Luke will be a great role model for the boys. It just seems like the show is headed for the happily ever after. Although its what we all want it also means the end to a great show. I just hope that they drag it out as long as they can.. Come on season 8!!!!!!

  19. Jess Anonymous says:

Gina- that comment makes me cry. I didnt realise but your right =[

  20. riss says:

i totally disagree. i thought it was like watching a typucal gilmore giirls episode.

  21. riss says:

don’t hate me but i kind of wanted a really big fight between rory and logan even thought i lovelogan. i just think their story line is getting kind of boring

  22. M says:

ugh i agree with all of you. the show definately seems to be winding down but just remeber 7th Heaven and pray for a miracle like that to happen with GG. i also think that if you watch the first couple episodes (or seasons even) you dont see much of Lukes personal life if it doesnt involve Lorelai or Rory but now basically half the episode was going back and forth between the Gilmore Girls and Luke, Lane, and Zack. I really liked it wen they all high fived at the dinner cause thats typical Gilmore Girls and it shows how young and immature Lane and Zack still are but their compatibility nonetheless. I also think that if an old spoiler i read on this site that said they wanted to end the series with luke and lorelai married and expecting a baby they DEFINATELY need another season because i mean it took them 4 freaking years to kiss! but also having an eighth season w/o logan mite b kinda hard unless they set up a better contender for rory. You never know………. OH and last but not least, dont you guys feel like the shows are weird and kind of impersonal like i was watching some old ones from the fifth season and every minute kept me in suspense and i couldnt resist but watch the next one, and the next one but with this season every episode leaves u with an eery(sp) feeling of satisfaction. I miss the suspense damnit!

  23. mollie says:

one it took them 4 tv years 8 years of friendship.

two i know what you mean about the suspense i was watching the last one from season 5 and i still span when luke slipped the whole “whaat about the kids line”. i have seen/ heard him say that line like 30 times and it still makes me feel OooOOOooooohhhHHHh. Even Luke’s heartfelt declartion at Martha’s Vineard that still makes my heart skip.

uggh DR we need more suspense in these episodes.

  24. Obsessed GG Fan says:

I agree with M. I kinda miss the suspence in the episodes when it makes you want to watch the next episode! I miss it so much. I want my L/L back he is way to involed in Lane and Zach’s life than in Liz and TJ’s they are his family not Lane and Zach’s I mean I love Lane and Zach to death but i feel he shoud be acting like a family guy because we all know lorelai and luke will be having a baby to come and he needs to get a hold of himself and learn to be a dad. Since April is gone ( THANK GOD SHE IS! ) he can get his life in order and focus on gettting his on true love back Lorelai! He has put on the charm many a time and i miss it terribly. I can wait until Luke and Lorelai get together again oh the good old days!

I am kinda bummed about the Logan and Rory rumors about them breaking up at the end of the season. I know that there story line is getting boring but i will miss having those cute moments between them and the fights! I just wish he was more mature and stayed that way. He has me under his spell of cuteness and trying so hard to keep Rory holding on. But she is drifting toward the other way.

I am so a supporter of Gilmore Girls Mandate 8 Support Site! I want another season to bring it all together. I dont want it to end just yet ;)

  25. Priscilla says:

People, I don’t think that this is the last season for Gilmore Girls, because there is only like five more episodes left. They cant just wrap everything up in one month. Cuz it took them so many years to get together, and if Lorelai and Luke stay together, CW has to give an eigth season to know what happened with their lives, and how Rory ended up after we have seen her stuggle through schools. And Rory was never a single girl when we met her in the pilot, in the first Gilmore Girls, she was flirting already with Dean. Sooooo, she has to stay with BEAUTIFUL LOGAN.

  26. MJ says:

I love this show, and hope to enjoy season 8, but I too hope it is minus Logan. He plays with Rory’s emotions too much and everything is his way or he gets mad. Not a healthy relationship. I hope they have her meet someone strong and someone that will encourage her to continue her writing career. As for Luke and Lorelai, please hurry and put those two back together. I miss their coffee time and their cute quips. Keep the shows coming.

  27. gL says:

I truly enjoyed this episode probably due in part to the collaborative effort that is Lauren Graham/ Amy Sherman-Palladino. It was nice seeing the unique bond shared between the three generations of Gilmore women. I hope things work out toward the end of the season for Rory & Logan though… Mostly ’cause Czuchry is such a joy to watch, lol:p

  28. Barbarella says:

I love GG so dont hate me for saying this but i think Rory has changed too much. She is a little mroe shallow than she used to be since hooking up with Logan. I still love Rory/ Alexis and think she is gorgeous

  29. Cher says:

I just really miss the Luke and Loralai thing they had going on for six years, this season hasn’e ment much to me because it doesn’t have L@L together having their regular debates about the goings on in the town and with them.

  30. b says:

yeah ok syco keep watching this nonsence

  31. ulle says:

Does anyone know if there is a download for episode 18? The subscribtions I have hasn´t downloaded anything for a while?

  32. Amelia says:

i agree,i find them hilarious…..they made season six very funny for me especially finn.i think his part were too brief even
