Omg. Lauren was great in that eppisode!!!
dmitchel and sookie were so funny. and so was zach singing celine dion songs. hilarious.
rory was great as always, but the performance of the night went to lorelai and christopher. i think they both acted wonderfully.
great episode.
Lauren Graham gets the best acting award for this episode! she was GREAT especially at the end!
All the cast members were on their mark in this episode, but it certainly was Lorelei’s night.
The next episodes should be particularly interesting what with Lorelei telling Emily she and Chris are kaput and the town making their assumptions.
i dont know how lauren does it but her crying scene was soooo good at the end she almost made me cry shes good
We have news!!!
First, we have a preview and a director’s cut on the CW website. The preview shows that yes, Luke finds out when Babbette and Miss Patty are talking at the diner. Kirk has a funny line, too. Here:

Also, this episode was so good! Lauren Graham definitely wins the award for best actress of the evening!

I can’t put the link for the director’s cut (the message doesn’t show up if you put in more than one link), so just click on “director’s cuts” and scroll down to Gilmore girls. There is only one director’s cut this week.

Oh, never mind. If this person is correct, it seems as if Luke finds out before the scene in the promo that Lorelai and Chris broke up. Here:

I was just reading an article someone wrote about the last episode on TV Guide, and I thought I would share it…
“February 13, 2007: I Want You to Want Me
If you managed to catch the preview for this episode — and I’m not sure you could have missed it since it aired every half-hour for a week straight — you knew the end was coming. “You’re the man I want to want!” wails Lorelai in the promo. So when she finally choked out those sad words in the episode, they kinda lost their kick-to-the-stomach-effect. Which was a shame, because the familiarity practically robbed us of her honesty. It’s as if the lines were delivered by a woman on truth serum, admitting to one horrible thing after another: “I still have feelings for Luke.” “I jumped.” “I’ve always thought of you as a possibility” (BTW: Chris, “possibility” is another word for “backup.” Ouch.) And then the Big Line. Chris took it well, actually. Who wants to hear that someone wants to love you, but you know, they just can’t muster up the feelings? Interesting: Chris is a selfish jerk, but sometimes he does handle other people’s feelings with grace. I’m sure a lot of people would have flipped out over that doozy, even if they knew it was true.
My favorite scenes with Lauren Graham are often the silent ones, which is ironic since her fast-talking, quick-witted, pop-culture refs make her one of the best written characters on TV. (This combo should make her an Emmy contender, Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.) The first of her silences in this ep was when she passed the window of Luke’s diner and saw him filling out a check at the counter. She forced a smile when their eyes met and he waved, but when she turned away, the look of regret and sadness washed right across her face. If you weren’t sure about her “future” with Chris by that point, then did you notice when she was choking back tears as Zack played an acoustic version of “My Heart Will Go On” at the funeral for Michel’s dog? (Pure genius! Nothing could be worse for a rocker than playing Celine Dion, even for a good cause. I am still shuddering.)
I might be remiss if I finish my column without writing about Rory. Crush on her T.A.: totally adorable! Telling Logan all about it: completely lame! So she had stammered her way through a few conversations and offered the guy a book to read. (OK, I looked up Eva Luna, by Isabelle Allende. One site did describe it as “sensuous.” Big screaming deal! It’s not like she offered him the Kama Sutra!) Her reason? She wanted to make sure Paris had it wrong, that she hadn’t “broken Logan.” He said she didn’t. (Riiiiight. What guy would admit otherwise?). Then again, Paris did deliver the best line of the night: “Logan was on the Colin Farrell Freeway just about to pull over at the Robert Downey Jr. rest stop.” Maybe Rory didn’t break him, but instead sent him on a better course. Considering the Gilmore track record, that’s an accomplishment.”
I definitely agree with her when she says “My favorite scenes with Lauren Graham are often the silent ones.” Lauren’s tiny facial expressions often have a big meaning. You can tell what she is feeling and what she is thinking about.
Then, another thing I was thinking about, something in the episode that might have had a “secret meaning.” The song that Michel wants to be played at the memorial is “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion. Now, when Lorelai, Michel, and Zach are in the music store, and Lorelai is looking for the song on the shelf, and all the ones she passes have a title saying ‘My Heart…
” then whatever. Then something that just flies by, Lorelai says “My heart can’t make up its mind.”
That is after Sookie talks to her about if Chris would be “the one” if there was no Luke, so Lorelai is most likely thinking about that question, and, that is before she passes by Luke’s and sees Luke and whatever. So, I was thinking, if before she passed by Luke’s, her heart ‘couldn’t make up its mind’ about Chris and Luke, and then she sees Luke, and she realizes who she really loves.
Of course, I have a feeling that she already knew that she loved Luke before she actually passes by Luke’s, but maybe just that small wave and smile helped her, well, not really admit it to herself, but just kinda showed her that Luke was the one for her. Or, that line “My heart can’t make up its mind” could have just been in reference to all of the “My Heart Will..” whatever songs that she saw. Just something I just thought about.
Em, great point. I never thought of it like that. But that is a definate possibility. I thought it was just a quircky comment, but I think I need to rewatch the scene.
That is great!!
…Huge!!
…Lorelai is finally opening her eyes!
…And i totally agree with article…that “wave”, was the “point”, was the “thing”, to Lorelai, she’s figuring out who she really loves, her “one”, her middle, she’s figuring out Luke!
…All they needed was time…and that time is coming to an end…so it is time for them, it is time for Lorelai and Luke!
…They’re fuguring out each other again!
…Loreai knows that she loves Luke, but she doesn’t want to believe in that.
…Her heart say one thing…and her mind say another. But now she will figure out that the heart is more powerful than mind…she will finally listen to her heart!
These feelings for Luke is taking her!
..Oh yeah, Lauren Graham deserves a GOLDEN GLOBE for that scene!
She’s so intense, she’s so deep, and natural and real…she is the BEST actress in the world!!
She’s great!
She’s amazing!
….I can’t wait to see the next episodes!
…I can’t wait to see my Lorelai and Luke back together again!
…And get ready people..cause this is coming soon!!
ummm she always is, but this was one of the best
OMG!
the thing about the heart, i was thinking the EXACT same thing!!
Lauren Graham has always been great but this time she outdid herself!

Lauren was awsome in that episode. When she cried at the end i practically cried! She is an amazing actress!

LUKE AND LORELAI FOREVER!!!!!!!!
yay! i just realized that those annoying aerie girls are gone!
i just realized that maybe the show has been so slow recently because of christopher. this may just be how the new writer does things, but im hoping that with chris out and luke back with them, the show will get its fast pace back again, and all will be right with the world…..i hope.
